Colossal Castle Contest 8: Winning Entries!
Re: Colossal Castle Contest 8: Winning Entries!
And I just realized, that someone really had the patience to cut out my background and replace it with a white one!
If someone had told me, I had one with white background on my Computer....
You all really did a great job. Respect!

Re: Colossal Castle Contest 8: Winning Entries!
congratulations to everyone who participated! creations were fantastic, with so much innovation, effort and beauty looking forward for cccc 9
I do hope it is not the same wall for every CCCC excesive painting every year to cover the holes can be noticeableJoshWedin wrote: The judging isn't too hard though. We all go over to Ben's house and hang pictures of all the entries on his living room wall. Then we throw darts at the entries we don't like and Bruce tallies it all up. The winners are the one's with the least holes. ;)Josh

A major "Thank you!" to the admins for taking the time to run such a great contest. Also, a "Thank you!" to all who entered the contest; seeing everyone pull out the stops and build their best for the CCC is always a highlight of my year. Congratulations to all of you, and especially to this year's winners. The victories are certainly well deserved!

Congrats to all the winners! All of the entries looked great! My personal favorite was the "Destroy the Neighbors" idea. I couldn't explain why, but it just made me smile every time I looked at it. Maybe next year I will enter something (once I get more pieces). Again, congrats to the winners!

Re: Colossal Castle Contest 8: Winning Entries!
Hey all,
Once again, we'd like to thank those who either donated prizes directly or donated the money to purchase prizes.
BrickArms and BrickForge both donated custom accessories, and BrickForge also donated a set. Please patronize these fan-based businesses.
The Brothers Brick underwrote several of our prizes. Please read their blog. Also remember that if you click through the sales links on their site, they get some monetary compensation, which goes to pay for their blog and then they use the extra money to support the fan community. C'mon, you're probably going to buy from Amazon, Toys R Us, or LEGO.com anyway, you might as well get their through the BB.
LEGO donated a large set as well. I'm guessing you don't need any encouragement to buy their products.
Ben Ellermann, Trevor Van Aalst, Rich Stehnach, and a donor who wishes to remain anonymous all donated prizes. A huge thanks to each of these. Ben gets a double thanks, because in addition to donating prizes, he scoured eBay etc to buy great prizes using some of the monetary donations.
Thank you to all of these!
Bruce

Amazing entries! What I really like the most about this contest is all the new, never-before-seen building methods that come out of it! Every year is a stretch!

Congratulations to all the winners!
I knew it was going to be tough with all the amazing entries in each category. Nevertheless, I'm just as satisfied that a couple of my entries even made honorable mention. There's always hope for the next contest!
