Mini Castle Contest VII

Post by wobnam »

As our great microscale contest master Robin Hood has plunged even deeper into the dim age of education, he has graciously passed the hat to me to run the seventh Mini Castle Contest - so, without further ado..

The Mini Castle Contest VII

For inspiration, check out the previous contests (MCC I, MCC II, MCC III, MCC IV, MCC V, MCC VI) or Bruce's blog MicroBricks.

Rules
- Your creation has to be smaller than minifig scale.
- Your creation has to be castle-themed (including medieval, fantasy, ninja, vikings, ancient times..)
- Your creation can not have been published before the start of this contest (Sep 23).
- Clone brands are evil and therefore banned!
- Custom pieces are slightly less evil, but still banned.
- There are no restrictions on size.
- There are no restrictions on piece count.
- There are no restrictions on how many photos you publish.
- There are no restrictions on how many times you enter.
- There are no restrictions on base techniques (snot vs tiles vs studs).

Categories
This contest only has one category, and it is called "the most amazingly awesome micro castle creation you can build" - so build what you want, be creative, and have fun!

Prizes
Image
First prize: Gladiator, Musketeer, Viking, Elf and Spartan collectible minifigures MISB.

Deadline
The deadline for entries is midnight (CC server time), October 31st. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

Questions?
If you have any questions, post them in this thread and I will answer them as soon as possible.

I've never done anything in microscale, but I'll probably try to put something together for this :)

I feel I must point out the irony of the prize, considering that rule #1 is that the creations have to be too small for minifigs to inhabit them! ;)

Thanks for hosting the contest, and good luck to everyone!

Being in kind of a building slump, this contest is the perfect thing to get me building more rapidly again. :)

Hmm. Hopefully I may be able to enter. This seems to be the time for contests and due to my previous occupation in others, I may not be able to post anything.
2MC is gonna win again anyway.

Hmmm. Slightly concerned about the burden of expectation there Blego7!

I love this competition, I think it's my favourite annual event in the whole of Legodom. However, I'm currently stuck in the throes of building stuff for the Lego Show at STEAM and will also be on holiday away from my bricks for two weeks during October. I don't want to enter anything that wouldn't do this fine event justice. We'll see...
Increasingly irritated by the way real-world work impinges on building time...

I am pretty sure it is world wide, seeing as Wobnam is not from America.

We' have never had a contest that was limited to just one region.

If you do enter, at least give newbies like me a chance at victory.

First Entry!!

Well here is my first try at building in miniature scale.

Castle with a river running in front of it and some houses, one of which is dug into the side of a hill.
