Here's the whole story of the knight's quest....
When we last left our four heroes, (Harry, Bill, Fletcher, and Darcy) their great treasure had been suddenly stolen by a wild pack of foresters, leaving them nearly penniless on the side of the road. To their good fortune, they met a party of knights, led by the noble Sir Roland who - after hearing their sad tale - offered to help recover their lost goods.
Now, Sir Roland knew that the best way to discover the whereabouts of the treasure that the foresters had sequestered away was to find a few of the outlaws and question them somewhat roughly while peril was in plain view. Apparently, holding them at spearpoint at the edge of a thirty-foot cliff encouraged them to give a very accurate, honest, and detailed answer.
With a thunderous charge, Sir Roland and his knights burst upon the scene of the forester's fort. They captured many of the rogues and reclaimed the treasure down to the last coin, much to the relief of our four friends. But they were unable to apprehend the forester's fearsome leader, "Will o' th' Black", who leapt out the back of the fort and disappeared into the woods.
(By the way, this is the fourth part of the saga of King Aldewulf's treasure.)
If you're curious about who this King Aldewulf is, and what he looked like, he can be viewed here:
