LCC - Dead Man's Gully Fort.

Hey everyone!

This is my entry for the Lenflad Local Challenge; Fortify the forests. I kinda got a little carried away with the outpost idea and it kind developed into a small fort. I hope this is still acceptable for the challenge

Hear ye, hear ye, proud builders of Lenfald!

Our great High Lord Wenseclaus II has decided, in all his wisdom, that to protect the people and interests of Lenfald, new fortifications must be build along our borders and in our untamed heartlands! He calls upon all masons, workers and master builders to build mighty towers and outposts for our great army to guard... So grab your tools and gather stones and wood! We shall build to protect this land from the outlaws, and the strangers that threaten our borders! For great Lenfald!

At the Southern end of the Lenflad/Garheim border there is a small off-run of the mighty Moroccan River; Dead Man’s gully. Because it is deceptively wider, deeper and deceptively faster than it seems many a soldier or man-at-arms has fallen in and never returned, thus it's name.
That makes Dead Man’s gully the perfect strategic position for defence because it is flanked on 3 sides buy the gully and has a wide view of the surrounding areas. In the case of an attack, the defenders could simply sit behind the walls and shoot arrows at the attackers as they try to make some form of bridge across the deadly, fast flowing rapids. If the enemy did make it across there is little room on the other side of the gully which limits the amount of men the enemy can commit to an attack which therefore limits the chance of victory.
This is why Sir Eli has summoned the local villages, carpenters, cobblers, lumberjacks, stoneworkers to build and defend a fully manned border crossing. The small fort will be used to hold off enemy raids in the area. Sir Eli also plans to use his newly erected fort as a foothold to move deeper into Garheim territory and mount a successful raid on an undefended town that is about 13 miles North East of the Lenfald/Garheim border.
Now that the small fort is almost complete he can finally start to plan his raid………

A raid on Garheim would be.... let's just say "inadvisable".

With the King's royal proclamation of a day of celebration and merry making with the intent of promoting peace and prosperity, a raid would certainly be contrary to his wishes, and you wouldn't want to have the wrath of the king AND a bunch of pissed off Garhims to deal with, would you?

Best stick to building forts and chopping wood at the moment, I'd suggest.

That said, nice fort! You've built a very bustling scene here :)

Nice job on this scene, and even though it isn't the focus of the moc, I really like the tree. The other details are nice too, like the man hammering, and the sheep pen.
You would rather be building right now.

pissing of Garheim and making a alliance with Loreos, what is Lenfalds thinking? :)
Great tower and made a good story to go with it about the place where it stands. I like it, awaiting more of your mocs ;).
Btw you should remember the Classic Castle TOS about limit of 4 images, you shouldn 't want to piss off the admins and mods of the forums. trust me I know ;)

This is a great little build! I love the palisade and the technique used on the woman's dress! I haven't seen that before! Nice story here 2! Good luck if you think you can handle Garheim though :roflol: !

Nice build, I like the tower and angled section of the wall. Good to see more Lenfel builds :)

Great job on the rocks and water! One suggestion I have is to tidy up the base a bit. The rough and colorful bricks underneath is rather distracting.
