LCC Global Challenge #1 - A Feast in a Cave

Post by Blaze Ryder »

Here is my entry for the first LLC:

LCC Global Challenge #1 - A Feast in a Cave
And the story behind it:

Journal Entry 1

"I found a destroyed wagon alongside the road. I searched though the wreckage and found some flint - my hammer did a good job creating a spark to light the fire I'm writing this by, some parchment, a quill - I'm wiriting with these now, a letter and a bag to carry all my new belongings. I also discovered, much to my discontent, spilled blood on the rocks. I left the area most hurriedly and found the cave I am in right now, a few hundred strides from the trail.

I am quite lucky. It has been, what I believe, a few hours since I last wrote anything down. The contents of the letter are in regards to a feast for the entire province, and it appears to have been written recently. I believe the feast is planned for today. Had a been a day or two earlier to the scene, I may have gotten caught in whatever misfortune befell the guardsmen and the wagon driver.

It is now late in the evening and it's a shame I can't spend it feasting with my fellow Garhims. It is not all bad though. I managed to capture a rather large rat in this cave, and with all the fresh water I can drink from the stream flowing through, I shall consider the meal my feast! Huzzah!

-Grey Hammershot"

More (and better edited) photos will be added to my photostream tonight/tomorrow

Good story. I like the simplicity of your entry, it stands as a nice contrast to the majority of them that have a lot of pomp and circumstance.
You would rather be building right now.

Thanks! I just started in LCC yesterday and with no hope of my character being in a village to celebrate a feast, as well as wanting to improve my rock/cliff/cave building skills, the idea just kind of dawned on me. It's not my best work (the back looks like a rainbow tornado ran through it) but it was a fun, quick build and a wonderful break from calculus.
