However, the short version of the story is that Ted decides to get a bunch of his fellow outlaws intoxicated in hopes that one of them would disclose the location of the missing sword (which Ted is sure someone out there knows). After a whole lot of alcohol and wild stories, someone finally tells Ted that the missing sword was hidden long ago under the king's bed. Ted is sure this must be where the sword is hidden. Ted goes off to the king's castle to find it and sure enough, finds an old sword hidden under the bed. Ted is convinced he has completed his quest.
