Hi Jalkow,

I do understand your point. It's cool when MOCs have movement, and yours looks cool. My son in particular wanted to watch it again and again. The problem is that there is necessarily a limit to the number of pictures per entry. We limit things to three to make it fair for everyone and manageable for the judges. There are currently 326 entries, another 26 awaiting moderation (some on the naughty list, some awaiting Brickshelf moderation, and probably a few that have been submitted since I went through the list before making lunch), and I fully expect there to be another couple of dozen in the last minutes before the deadline (there always are). Imagine if each entry had between ten and twenty pictures to look at - it would be impossible. And so there must be a limit. But a video breaks that limit. A video is, essentially, an infinite amount of pictures strung together (think how long it takes to make a short brickfilm). If one person uses a video to show how their dragon's wings flap, or whatever, why couldn't another use a video to do a fly through of a whole medieval village layout, pausing for each of the details, or whatever?

In your case, you couldn't enter a video, but it looks like you only entered one picture. You could easily use three pictures to show the boat and tentacles in different orientations, and note in the description that it is motorized. Us judges are pretty experienced at this, you know, and we could pretty much infer the movement. But you just gave one photo, which sort of wastes the movement (as far as this contest is concerned - you actually built this for a public show, which is a venue where the moving parts can best be appreciated).

Thanks for you comment, Bruce. I sure understand that a video crosses the limit and raises the question of what is fair and what is not. I am not saying that videos should be permitted per se, because that'll turn judging in a real nightmare. But as I said, I still think that CCC would be a great way to bring movement to the theme. Not by permitting videos, but a single category, for instance, just like the tapestry-category from a few years back gave attention to something new to the theme.

I might add two pictures to the Brickshelf-folder, now that you've mentioned it. It's the next best thing.

Hello Bruce,

you are right, I tried to show way too much in three images... I replaced one of the images but I left the one depicting the working bellows, I hope it's okay (please let me know if it should be replaced, too).

Cheers

I submitted my entries yesterday as I didn't want to miss the deadline, but I had also literally just joined, and my forum membership hadn't been approved yet (it still let me submit the entries, though I didnt get an email or anything saying my entries were accepted). I also noticed the picture sizes were too large, so they have since been fixed. Should I resubmit the entries? I just don't want to end up disqualified or anything, as I did submit before the deadline, I'm just not sure if everything is going to check out.

Edit- resubmitted both entries just in case.

Hey I'm Glory_Forever's brother Javan,

I have been trying to sign in to post my entry for the past hour+, and wasn't able to post it fast enough due to sign in issues. Can I still post my entry?

Here's my links;

Good morning everyone and happy new year. There are literally 75 entries awaiting moderation, with those previously on the naughty list and a ton submitted in the last few days. Give us a couple of days to go through them. Those still on the naughty list will be notified and given a last chance to fix things and judging will begin. Please don't ask when judging will be done. It is a long process with several people that takes a long time.

Btw,I'm sure there are some duplicate entries, but when all are through this will be our biggest ccc yet (or at least since ccciv when Jensen started posting statistics). Thanks to you all for a great contest.

Any reason my 7016 Viking Boat against the Wyvern Dragon Reimagined was moved to Misc.? My guess is that Viking isn't Classic Castle?

Yes, in the Q&A thread it was clarified that these were supposed to be sets prior to KKII. That also affected Brother Steven's Border Ambush entry.
