My favorite build from you so far! The ruins look great and I like the recently constructed buildings, especially the watchtower.
Nice figs as well :D

You did a good job of making this look like they are really taking over an abandoned fortification. Everything looks overgrown and in disrepair. I also like your custom Forestman ovoid shield. Someday I'm going to have to actually venture into making some custom shields myself.

I would comment that, if you were going to build a new watchtower, wouldn't you want it to be taller than the existing stone one? Building a new, shorter tower right next to the old one seems unnecessary, though I like where you were going with the idea.

The shields were designed by Anthony Sava, they can be found for free on the how-to page! About the tower, I agree, it looks a bit out-of-place now that I look at it. Originaly, it's purpose was to oversee work on the inner ward, and to cover the right side of the fortress, (on the rock) since it lacked defenses altogether.

Looking at your layout again, I think if you had put it on that bluff on the left side, that would have been a great place for it. Hindsight is always 20/20 though ;)

I'm always hoping that my comments don't come across as negative. I know that I appreciate good constructive feedback, so I assume others feel the same, though that's probably not always the case :tasty:

You did a good job making the walls look like they're crumbling, worn and have been beaten by the elements for years. I still have hard time balancing ruins between still intact, broken and overgrown... and the men at their various posts doing chores or patrolling is really well done.
"Hey Tom? Yeah, I can't see over dere 'cause of tha ol' watchtower..."

I do appreciate all commentary and feedback. It helps me grow as a builder, so I don't mind negative comments, and yours was really constructive, so thanks!

Impressive build, Teherean! Great job capturing the "ruined" feeling.
