LCC GC3 P2: Hellthorn Castle

Post by Siercon and Coral »

Krypt:
"How dare they try to purge the magic islands. Our home. A challenge set among men to destroy the lives of the outlaws. We humbly reside in the shadow of the Magic Islands, and now you march upon our lands. What sets you against us, is there some prize in trampling upon our homeland... very well. Beasts you have not seen, and heroes who have up till now have left you alone will rise. The Outlaws will fight back once again."

Image

LCC Story: "From the hellthorn tree the Phoenix is born. Now you have been told it rises from the ashes. An immortal beauty destined to fade and be reborn. This is true... but for the very first time a phoenix is born. Deep among lava lakes and streams you will find hellthorn trees. And at the heart of these trees are deep amber crystal shells. And only once in 73 years will they crackle forth with ear spliting thunder and lava like tendrills giving birth to the flame feathered eagle. Overseen by the dark lords under Karain, Hellthorn Castle keeps a careful watch on the borders surrounding the forsaken.

Image

So I say unto you now... 'Let them not think that we are dead. For we now scratch and claw among the living. They pretend that magic flutters softly in in the realm of dawn breaking heroes... But we know history by another story. Among the land of the Outlaws reigns Karain. And at his right hand a faceless shadow rises. Cast out from cities for practicing the dark arts, some had believed his involvement, nay his existence to be a myth. (reference to our lack of building lol) But he is here today, and the Outlaws seek to be stronger than ever.' "

Oh gosh... How come you have enough time and enough bricks for all that? :O
The MOC is simply stunning. I love all the techniques you used, especially the trees and... the dog! It's amazing how you did the lava look so realistic, teh dark red parts are a great likeness of it.

...And they've done it again. You guys never cease to amaze me, seriously.
The amount of detail you can put into builds and the small amount of time it takes you guys to make them is simply incredible.
The underworld look you've managed to create is amazing and those trees are ingenious.
The fortress is also quite impressive; the lighting inside of it really adds a lot.
Keep it up you two! :D

Saw this on flickr and I have to repeat once more how great it is! I think we can all relate to the feeling of being almost, well, bored with grey castles. It is fantastic to see a variation, especially one as good as this. Keep up the great work!

Wonderfully evil castle. I'm eagerly awaiting what happens next in the story you've started here!

Ridiculously amazing!!! :twitch: lol This is great! I love idea of a volcanic fortress and the the lava field looks amazing! The story is captivating and I love your phoenixes. The bone-dog creature is wonderful, too. Great job! We're all doomed :halo:

Yikes! Best to leave those Magic Isles alone I daresay! A wonderful build all around, but I especially like the innovative lava flow and wall grating.
