Huge Keep

I built this keep to be part of a much larger modular castle I have been working on for several years. It is wired with LED's in the fireplaces that flicker for a realistic effect. I tried to build it as realistically as possible. I will later post pictures of all the components of the modular castle I have built so far put together. Below is the link to see the pics on Flickr. I hope you enjoy them!

It's HUUUGE!

Great job on something of this scale. You've added a lot of fun features and details. This is definitely a more "realistic" castle than most of what you see around here, which tend to be more "fantasy" based. Excellent work.

Holy Shenanigans! That is so big and very well scaled by the look of it. Nice detail with the interior I'm impressed. :)

Whoa! You definitely weren't kidding when you said this was huge. The overall build is breath-taking, and for the size of the build, the amount of detail you packed in is incredible.
I'm quite jealous of all those "Crownie" knights as well. A few questions: 1. How long did this take you to build? 2. What's a rough estimate for piece's used on this beast? 3. Did you have inspiration off of a real-life castle and or LEGO castle or did you just start building? Okay, enough talking, amazing job man!

Thanks for all the positive feedback! It makes it worth all the work when it is appreciated by lego fans! It took me the better part of a year to build. I spent a long time just drawing up the "blue prints". I always plan out my creations and then just make minor details and changes as I go. I have no idea how many pieces it used. I sold it for $7500. When I look at the pics I wish I would have kept it! It was not inspired by any particular castle, but rather just a culmination of all I've seen studying ancient castles and moc's. I am currently working on the section on the castle that will connect the main drawbridge of this keep to the rest of the castle.

So that is the reason that there are no gray bricks left on bricklink... ;)

Whoa, this is amazing! Is this going to ultimately hook up with the massive gatehouse you posted three years ago? Or did you sell this?

Most impressive :o The thing that makes it for me is the well detailed interior, glad you didn't put all the space to waste.
Like Bruce I'm wondering if this connects to the gatehouse, was it the same person who bought this?

Same buyer, so all these sections will be connected! I have done four of the sections and am working on the fifth
