LCC outlaws freebuild: to Rescue a Dwarf
Posted: Fri Jul 26, 2013 6:58 pm
Hello everyone! This is my first free build for LCC outlaws here.
Alfarrin the FerretClaw was walking down a little known and well-concealed pathway one day with a few of his fellow elven rangers, when he heard voices ahead. He immediately crouched down and signaled the elves into stealth mode, and silently crept onward. He saw a stocky dwarf, tied up, surrounded by a gang of men, prodding at him with spears. Alfarrin nodded to the elves, and they drew arrows to their bows and silently fired. Alfarrin threw a long knife, and it expertly slid between a pair of ribs. The dwarf noticed that he was being rescued, and, effortlessly snapping his bonds, charged into battle. Within seconds, the men had vanished, slain or fled. Alfarrin strode out of the shadows and retrieved his dagger.
"Alfarrin," he said, holding out his hand.
"Gothr," the dwarf replied, shaking it. "On the road I was attacked by nobles. They rushed me on my travels, saying 'Tell us what this Galainir wants, Blacksmith! ' Apparently, I look like the queens personal silversmith from behind, thus the questions I did not know and the awkward misconception. so they said 'Tell us or we shall stick you like a pig!' Some of 'em asked if 'the banquet' was a trap. I know of no banquet, trap or no, I answered them. They jabs me with spears and yells at me, but yer showed up after dat," Gothr said.
"It is strange," murmured Alfarrin, "Galainir, Galainir, Galainir! I have heard of little else for months now. The people say she is to be crowned queen, and many rejoice! Yet many of those who hold power do all that they can against her, for a queen shall undermine their authority. I must find out more about this strange human, for half of me is governed by her words, so to speak."
"I'll accompany yer, for dis concerns my people too," Gothr replied.
"Very well. We will go to the towns, and question the people, for it is that they are often the ones who know most, despite the spys and libraries of the nobles. We shall see what we shall see!"
