Siege of Ardon

After the Lion alliance defeated the Dragon and Crown armies in the King's Grove, siege was laid to Ardon, the capital city of the Crown Kingdom. As the Crown Kingdom was very weak and unstable, the siege would no doubt end in success for the Lion alliance. The white and gray apothecaries, among the rest of the population, must escape or be led under a new Lion-backed king.

As always, many more photos and close up shots are on
Brickshelf.
Another installment in my current story arc, although this particular one is rounding to a close soon enough, as I've got new ideas for what is next. C&C welcome.

Really cool battle! Nice sense of action, especially minifig positions and the siege-thingy...(word is escaping me.
) Do you have a picture of the other side? I'd really like to see what else is happening in the MOC. My only suggestion is maybe freshen up the terrain because it's a bit basic. Otherwise, really nice MOC. Keep it up!

It is a siege
tower.
Photos of the other side are on Brickshelf, unfortunately it is not public yet. Fortunately, I can give you some deeplinks:
An overview of the city.
Over the flowerbed/streets.
Sideview of a street.
Aerial view of the streets.
There are many more, these are just a few of the photos I took. Thank you very much for the comment!

Overall I like this moc, however, a few things come to mind when I view this. First, would the knights/soldiers stick to walking up the road and not spread out on the grass? Did they know that the walls were undermanned? Some knights are hiding behind a barricade, do they see archers that the others don't?

The way I planned it was so; it is a two pronged attack (or three, if the archers count). The siege tower leads the men up and over the wall to dispel any resistance (minimal) and the archers are positioned behind a barricade in the event that there were projectiles/arrows coming their way (there are none, since the castle is even less managed than previously thought.) And the final prong is the men marching (or storming) the castle gate itself, the first with a torch to hopefully burn their way down, or to smash it to bits if fire does not work. Granted, they don't have a battering ram, but worst comes to worst, they have the men who cascaded over the wall to release the gates from the inside, allowing entry.
A bit convoluted, I know.
Thank you for the comment though!

I think this setup goes nice with the way the figs are arranged. Very nice MOC, any time figs are battling Im happy
