Alfarrin the Ferretclaw had been thrown into a prison that was dark, dank, damp and dreary by a treacherous queen. There were bones, barrels, pieces of wood and moss, and an assortment of other disgusting items that do not bear describing littering the floor around him. He, unlike many of the other prisoners, was not despairing or weeping. He was just glad he had taken the precaution of bringing a dagger (see my entry for the coronation). The moment the soldiers walked off, he began his escape. He was pleased to find his hands and arms fit between the bars, and he began picking the lock with his knife. A couple of Loreesi and a Garhim watched him from nearby. He ignored them. He had no intent of being recaptured because of helping inexperienced others.

There was a clatter and Alfarrin bit back a curse as his knife forced the lock, jamming it, and fell from his grip to the floor. The jailer, a cruel fellow with greasy black hair that enjoyed taunting his captives and had more then a taste for alcohol, heard the noise and got up from his table a little ways down the corridor.
"What was that?" He asked loudly as he approached Alfarrin. Alfarrin hastily swept the dagger under a piece of moss on the floor with his foot. He made no reply as the jailer came closer, just staring blankly at him.

"You hear me?" The jailer asked, swaggering closer. "I said-" he never finished his sentence as he reached Alfarrins cell, as the half elf struck out with a lightning quick punch, knocking the guard out cold. Then, with nothing to fear, he slammed his body weight against the barred door, attempting to unjam the lock and burst his way out. After a moment it worked. He stepped out of the cell, and promptly took the broadsword of the fallen jailer and crept swiftly and silently towards freedom.

He soon reached the outer walls of the castle, and made short work of a nearby guard. As he expected, his faithful rangers had set a ladder up for him, and he climbed down. They ran to the shoreline and used the same canoe that they had arrived in to depart. He had escaped.

Ok, thats all! More picture can be viewed on my Flickr! Thanks for looking!
