"What? Outlaws? You know we're Outlaws, right?"
"Of course, what do you take me for, idiot?"
Gavin's band stirred angrily.
"I apologize, I should have given you more credit."
"No harm done. What do you say?"
Gavin was glad for a chance to stop running and take a breather, even if it was to fight a different foe.
"All right. How long does this treaty last?"
"Until the Queen is killed or exiled."
"We're in."
"Excellent. I have heard a lot about you and your good deeds for peasants, Outlaw though you may be. Maybe, when this is all over, if you promise to give up magic, you can re-join Loreos."
"No, I've come to realize that Outlaws aren't all evil or cruel. The band you see here are the best examples of that anywhere. I couldn't ask any more of an army of Loreos."
The Loreesi captain was impressed.
Gavin chuckled.
"And your bodyguard need to assured he doesn't need a knife behind his back just in case, but I understand the precaution. With most Outlaws, you can't be too careful."
The bodyguard was shocked, and the captain turned to him.
"I thought I told you to leave your weapons behind when we met him!"
"Sir, I! I..."
Gavin cut in.
"It's all right, he was simply doing his duty protecting you. Let him be."
With that, both bands turned to leave.
