6078-X - Return to the Royal Drawbridge

Post by Dubbadgrim »

On the peaceful fringes of the Royal Knight kingdom, the royal drawbridge provides safe passage across a river and acts as a storage point for skeletons and treasure. A bored prince chases rats, while a maiden gossips with a guard. But, a foreigner - a dragon master - arrives at the entrance with seemingly peaceful intentions. Only the guard sitting atop the drawbridge lookout has the vision to see the true motives of this Dragon Master, and the massive army he has mustered for a direct assault on the Royal Knight kingdom.

Well, this is my remake of the classic set 6078. I was inspired from This build from Aliencat and This build from Peter deYeule. I am particularly happy with getting the string+branch to collapse the drawbridge, the stalactite and (oddly) getting a good looking roof for the 3x3 pillars on the top. Also, make sure to check out the video I made of the trap on the drawbridge. Hope you guys enjoy!

I really love the bley and black color scheme, and you pulled it off extremely well.

The faithful representation of the set, yet in a new and exciting way, is beyond amazing. Great job! :)

Wow, this is very well done! I love the remake, you certainly stepped up the lego set quite a lot! :D The rockwork with the holes in it is brilliant, and the design is sweet as well! Great work man!

Lovely rebuild! I totally agree with OverLoad, and I also really like how you did the landscape, especially the cracks in the rocks :)

This is amazing work! I love how it is still true to the original, while being way bigger and detailed at the same time. Awesome work on the bridge nad the cracks in the rocks are neat as well. I think its great that you can make the bridge collapse. Nice work!

Happy Building,

Wow, very impressive! The Royal King should be impressed how well this bridge has been engineered and how it defends the kingdom. Great job!

Wow great remake of the Royal Drawbridge. It is easily reconsidered as the original but has a totally new and fresh feel to it. Well done.

That's awesome! I love how you can still tell it's a bigger re-creation of a Lego set, well done!

Oh man, this is absolutely stunning. These knights are my favorite knights of all time. I am slowly army building them (with a few minor tweaks). You've taken the original and created a memorable MOC that improves on the original in every way! I love all the details.
