"Forest Ambush"

Post by SSchmidt »

I have seen others recreating the sets from the 2013 Castle line. Here is my take on "Forest Ambush."

I made a small recreation of it. Unfortunately, in mine, there is no gold cart, puppy, and the bad guys win

And here is a link to my FLICKR to see the first picture in the photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/92878490@N03/12914198254/

There is also a story attached to this in my FLICKR, as it is a build for my character Silas in the LCC.

I tried to incorporate new tree techniques and small foliage in ways I had not totally seen yet. I would appreciate any comments or criticism on the build itself.

Thanks for viewing!

Nice build, but I'm not sure the olive green tree fits in with all the other colored trees  .

Nice action scene you've got here. I like the fact that there is an olive green tree as well as the others gives it a sense of variety like real forest would have.

@Mpoh98 - I don't think the good guys always have to win. :eyebrows:

@josdu - Glad you noticed the olive tree! I was actually making it an accent piece in the set. I felt another medium green tree would have been too overpowering, and then I also tend to think all the trees in the forest wouldn't have exactly the same shade as green, though I do appreciate the constructive criticism!

@Luke - Thanks Luke, I wanted to focus on the greenery for this one.

@Sir Erathor - Thanks! As previously said, I wanted to highlight it and use some new techniques I had "filed" away but been unable to use so far.

@Purple Wolf - Thanks buddy, you actually inspired me to do this build with your original rendition. Of course, I am quite fond of yours because it is more "true to the set" than mine is. Thanks, for your compliments. Your thought on the olive green tree was my original intention. A little variety seems realistic in a forest.

@Ssmidt, yea but its just that it looks like its almost fading while all the others look bright green so maybe dark green would look better as you already have some there.

Well I'm honored. :)

Just to say fading can be good, like a sick tree or just a different kind gives it a more real sense to it. Personally dark green would of looked to dark and made it harder to view the moc.

It maybe could use some cart for the good guys. The scene is very nice though. Great foliage! :D
