No problem, thanks for replying.Bluesecrets wrote:I know the "please be patient" comment may be met with some unhappiness, but life circumstances have several of us very busy at the moment. All entries must be approved before they begin to show up. This takes time. There is nothing wrong. We are not being lazy. For example, I have been deeply buried in a building project for the last month that has to be done on the 17th and I am still not done building.
Thank you for your understanding and patience with us.

Submitted my first entry! I expect as soon as you get time to be on the naughty list . My question:
Does anything need to be done to the picture before uploading to flickr? Or does flickr fix up the size thingy?

Where can I post my entries?
Do I have to create a topic for every entry or is there a page where I can uplode it? A link would be nice.
Oh and I promoted the contest on Imperium der Steine (http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/index.p ... ntest-xii/), a German LEGO forum with quite a lot of good builders, hopefully some of them will join.

34 Yeah, sure. I guess you could say they fall under my answer 9 above - fictional world with castle-y tech.Legonardo wrote:Is Asterix and Obelix acceptable? 50BC, roman empire, but the gauls are basicly the same as they are a few centuries later right?
35 Official LEGO lighting elements are valid in all categories. Non-official custom lighting elements could be used in the minifig customization and miscellaneous categories.Disco86 wrote: How about artifical light, like last years category ? See 33 above - Photoshop can only be used to edit images, not create something that was not there in the actual MOC.Big Tibo wrote:Can light be photoshoped ? Or must it be from "real" light ?
36 - There could be more than one structure, but remember this is in the context of something found within the castle walls, not just some random part of a walled city.Brickninja wrote:For the "Castle Building" category, could it be more than one, like a city street lined with building?
36 The image you upload should fit within the size limits. There are various free options that will help you size images - some are here. Your first entry was fine, btw.josdu wrote:Submitted my first entry! I expect as soon as you get time to be on the naughty list . My question:

See Blue's answer 25 above and the link Maehdros posted. BTW, thank you for posting the contest on Imperium der Steine. Everyone, please feel free to post links to the CCC on other LEGO forums, particularly non-English-speaking forums (since I am much less likely to be posting to those).Tambor wrote:Where can I post my entries?

Thank you all for your patience, btw. Entries have begun to be approved and I'm up to date as of now. Please pay attention to the Naughty List thread to see if there is some problem with your entry.

If i make an entry and upload big photos to flickr (say 3920 x 2672), can I just enter the CCC with a link of the same photo but resized with flickr ? like this :

or this

37) The answer has to be no she can not enter even under your account, due to the Federal COPPA Law. And if you do chose to enter her build under your account, it will in fact count as one of your entries. Is it ok for my sister, who is too young to make an account, to make an entry and submit it through my account? Would it take up my entry slots?
38) As long as the photos that are submitted to the CCC fit the requirements stated in the description of the contest for entry, you can post whatever you like in other sets/folders etc. Just know they will not be included in the judging. If i make an entry and upload big photos to flickr (say 3920 x 2672), can I just enter the CCC with a link of the same photo but resized with flickr ? like this :

Re: Colossal Castle Contest 12
Wanted to let everyone know that over at Merlin's Beard, we've started a new Global Challenge (GC) for the "Lands of Roawia" role-play that is meant to work in conjunction with the CCC, so entries for CCC can be used for the GC, and vice-versa. We are giving out some prizes over there as well, so there's a little extra incentive to get some CCC/GC entries done!

I've submitted my Fairy Tale category MOC a few days a go, but still doesn't appear on the entries. How do I now that if there is something wrong? Do we receive any kind of notification?

39 You should always remember to check the naughty list thread. Once you've fixed the entry (or, in your case, if you're happy being judged on a single photo rather than linking to a gallery of up to five photos), post a note in that thread.Cesbrick wrote:I've submitted my Fairy Tale category MOC a few days a go, but still doesn't appear on the entries. Re: Colossal Castle Contest 12
I have a really silly question but isn't that what the thread is for?. Is the Best Intentions category supposed to be a pun? Or was that uninTENTional?
Edit: Fixed the tiny font. I actually had wanted to strike through but that doesn't seem to be an option.

I'll let one of the other admins field the question...but I have a request please. That tiny font is impossible to read, especially for someone with astigmatisms. I get the fun you were trying to use but the only way I could read it was to "edit" your post, which is not something every member can do. Have a little pity for the people who have b's that look like p's and f's?gid617 wrote:I have a really silly question but isn't that what the thread is for?. Re: Colossal Castle Contest 12
I am thinking of building an entry for the "Out with the new" category because it sounds like a lot of fun.
Are we allowed to redesign LotR and Hobbit sets as well or do we have to stick with non-licensed castle sets?
And do the redesgned sets have to have the same amount of pieces and the same minifigs like the original sets?
It also says "Modern pieces should be used sparingly with the exception of figures, weaponry, shields, and flags.", does that mean we can use modern pieces sparingly only for the minifigs and the accessoires?
