375 Reborn

Post by BrickBelt »

Hi everyone!

This is my first post here, but I've visited before and recently I've been lurking because I've had an interested in re-imagining the classic yellow Lego castle. I just recently 'finished' (it's a WIP.) The idea was that it had to be functional as an affordable modern-day set, and capture the features of the original while adding to it. I had to differentiate it enough to put it on Lego Ideas and keep the piece count low enough to make it feasible for production.

You can view all the images on the Lego Ideas page.

I'd really value any ideas you guys have! It's hard to add too much detail while trying to keep a restricted piece count and capture the feel of the original sets. Comments? Suggestions? Criticism? I'd love to hear what you guys think about it.

I don't think it's anywhere near as stunning as most of the MoC's put up here, but I don't have much of a sense of direction on where to go without bringing the piece count up too much.

I like this updated version on 375. Unlike most people (I suspect) I like yellow castles.

I wouldn't be worried at all at piece counts when building. Build for the fun of it, and if you use every piece in your collection, then so be it. Keep up the good work!

Sadly, it was taken off Ideas because supposedly not my own original image...Apparently it was mistaken for the actual 375 box. It must of been some auto-bot that deleted it. I sent an e-mail asking for it to be put back up, but no reply, probably because the project was completely deleted.

That's okay, I'm going to put it up with a lot more updates:

I changed some things to keep the piece count reasonable, then added some flare to the exterior. Still polishing up the interior, but I made a tent that will fit inside the castle along with the tilt barrier, armor/weapon racks, and well.

Good use of bright light orange, and nexo knight shields. It looks very similar to the original 375, but still has its own flair :)
