That's really cool. I was worried about it first when it was just a stable, but it turned out great!
Its a nice size as well. I like the outer wall.
Pele Tower - Finished!!! (for now!!)
I've finally got round to finishing the tower's courtyard. It's not as big as I wanted due to a shortage of bricks/space!! Eventually I hope to enlarge it but for now I don't think it looks too bad - please let me know what you think...

Hey, very cool! The action in the courtyard gives it a lot of life. LOL at the choice of element for beehives.

Hey,greg3 wrote:Hi,
My latest MOC is a fortified tower based on a Pele Tower. These were towers (often called "Poorman's Castles") built near the England-Scotland border to protect property/livestock from raiders. They were square/rectangular towers, 3 storeys high surrounded by a walled enclosure. The ground floor was for storage/animals, the first floor contained the kitchen/hall and the second floor was living/sleeping quarters.

Accuracy wise this is great. There are hundreads of 'Block Houses' scattered around Ireland from the Britons' attempts to control the country with land grants... Most are ruins but stilll retain there 3 stories; so they must be as well built as yours : )
Thanks for sharing and God Bless,

The end result is very satisfying Greg. The "slice of life" with the peasants is great. I must admit that I would never have thought to include beehives, or Pith helmets! Nice stuff here over all, makes me want to see more of this "world."

I didn't really understand what you were going for when you first posted jsut the tower, but with the courtyard added it makes complete sense. I love the details like the gardens and the stable area. The tower did seem a little plain at first, but with the courtyard added it really looks nice. The entire place just seems to have the feel of a working community.
Great Job!!!
