The Gate (Vintage Lego castle MOC)

Post by set pepper »

HI,

I made a vintage lego castle MOC. I wanted to stay true to the 'interlocking wall' style of the '80 and early '90. I don't know how to upload an image, but you can find the speed build and some pictures on my youtube channel:

This is only the start of my project. The first section is called the gate and is based on a piece of the medieval city walls of Antwerp called (het Steen = the Stone).
In total there should be 11 towers. I've only added the first 3 in this section. I also added a stable. Next comes the old port, gatehouse,... So I have a lot more to do.

If anyone has suggestions, thoughts or tips you'll be willing to share. Feel free. :)
I also made a Lego digital designer file, but don't know how to upload. Do I use flicker for that?

Well, anyway, I hope you enjoy this one.

Greetings,
Geert

Superb MOC in the classic castle style! very enjoyable build video as well.
Hinging walls are always great, and you incorporated them well. Love the stable and gateway designs too :)

Thanks for the nice feedback.

'cause there aren't enough civil buildings in the old castle line, we have to make our own. :)

Hey, that's nice. If you had not told me this was an actual set, I would have tried looking it up.

This is very nice! As said before, the presentation and format of the video makes for an enjoyable 4 minutes. I can't wait to see what you will add next! Are you going to add houses on the inside of the walls to make a city?

Hey,

I'm planning some houses in the center as well. I'm currently working on a market and market houses. They'll go behind the gate to the harbor. That will be the first building that's not connected to any wall. I hope it turns out well and still feels like the old castle style, 'cause i've never seen a castle set that is not connected to a grey wall.

We'll see :)
