October Topic: Favorite CCC category

Post by Bluesecrets »

So while I have been a member here I have had my share of entries into the contest. But I truly think my favorite was the tapestry category. It was different and fun.

Which is yours?

Going by that very handy list posted by jtooker (Thanks for that!), I would have to say my favourite categories have been Secret Hideout, I had a blast doing that the one year, Medieval boat, always enjoy building boats, and the castle Category. the 1980-something Castle from the one year (I would guess 2014) was awesome too.

Picking my favorite is hard. For building personally, I liked the Dragon Attack category last year. For seeing other entries, Miscellaneous has consistently had some of the best scenes and most interesting MOCs.

For me, any of the Medieval Life iterations have been awesome and the Desert Bandits category had some really cool entries last year.

Not sure I could pick just one favorite out of that list, but a few that I have really enjoyed in the past would be Woodland Hideaway, Castle, and most of the Medieval Life categories.

Hey,

My favorite categories have been either those that were based on real history or those where the MOC somehow tells a story. I also always look forward to seeing where people go all out and build a full castle or a town layout that covers multiple baseplates, or at the other end, small MOCs like a vig or a wagon or a catapult that are limited in scale but still come up with some new idea or building technique. Oh, and brick-built creatures like dragons are fun. I guess I can't pick a favorite. :)

Many thanks for compiling them all jtooker!

It was kind of crazy reading through and seeing how many I specifically remember building for, or especially admiring others' entries :woo:

Too many great ones to just choose one, so here is a list:
Forest Life
Village Life
Daring Escape
Castle Room Interior
Medieval Manor
Medieval Town
Forest Lair
Tudor Castle

Plus Miscellaneous which always brings in some crazy epic models :)

My favorite categories have to be the Forest Life, Castle Fortification, Trade and Industry, A Child's Life, Medieval Bridge, Rob the Rich to..., and Daring Escape. Also, like the Miscellaneous category because I can put my best creations that don't necessarily fit a category in there. :)

Miscellaneous is my favorite so far because I can be creative with my story and set my scale.
