LEGOguy, long ago when I was not an Admin, I entered the first CC contest. I built several medium to large MOCs and entered them. Then, for the heck of it, I built a small cart and entered it too just because I was bored. That little cart was this:

and I won 1st place in the Carts catagory! I got this set:

which not only got me my second gray chest, it started the soon-to-be-popular Lone Falcon Chronicles. Your creations are only as good as you want them to be, so build on and enter the contest. The thrill of entering is almost as fun as the thrill of winning.

Wow, nice prizes.

I have a few ideas.

Good luck

The bar will be raised so high on customizing I bet! I can't wait to see what folks make
Heh, heh; I'd be willing to bet a lot that Blasterman, TTK, or Red Bean will win that one!

D-man

P.S. Please don't take me up on that bet. ;)

While I can't speak for TTK, I'd like to think that RB
and myself would be excluded from our own prizes.

I mean...we ALREADY have what we're donating, right?

I want to let everyone know that the prizes page has been updated with the images it was missing. You can now check out Lenny's very nice timber frame house and an image of the book "50 Years of Play."

Nice house.

And I would love to own that book, but frankly, I would rather have Lego. As fun as it is to read about it, it would be much more fun to build/play with it.

I need clarification on a point:
Yellow Castle Category -
This creation should be made mainly of basic bricks, figures, and accessories available before 1984. Custom shield, armor, and flag stickers can be used.
Now does this mean I cannot use something available IN 1984? Like Dark Gray helmets? this part Image is very hard to find in yellow, I only have two, and this Image in light gray is VERY rare.
Or is it within reason? like no brown parts?

You have to understand that this prize category is not something you enter but chosen for the top builder. It is an extra prize which that person will get even if they recieve first place in another category. Anyone can buy the sets we are giving out but finding this book is hard. Building is great, but so is reading ;) I am sure plenty of people would like this book if the winner doesnt want it.

It is within reason. Mainly it should be a yellow castle made of basic bricks and not poops. Using bullet helms and flared helms or swords which are black or dark grey is fine. Using a kettle helm or ovoid shield would be pushing it. You dont have to own a yellow castle to enter this category, just yellow bricks :)

Which I appreciate fully. My comment was to be taken in jest.

And I didn't say I wouldn't COMPETE for the prize, since I completely understodd that it is not a category to be entered.

All the same, as rare and valuable as the book is, I still want more Lego. :D

Cool Ben - thats what I thought, but I thought I should make sure BEFORE I built it. :D
Also I am sure some of our younger folks who DONT have yellow castle stuff will be glad to note that.

Contest Update!

Two categories have been modified to better suit the prizes being given away in them.

First is the Fantastical/Mythic Customization. This will replace the "Custom Medieval Figure" category. "Create a fantastical/mythic customized figure using modified bricks, custom accessories, and/or stickers. Ideas include wizards, dragons, elves, and fairies." The prize will still be the Corinthian Armor by Red Bean.

Next is the Realistic/Historical Customization. This replaces the "Champion" category. "Create a realistic/historical customized figure using modified bricks, custom accessories, and/or stickers. Ideas include armed knights, soldiers, monks, and villagers." The Little Armory has donated a knight, a complete set of weapons and accessories, knotted belt, and a unique prototype of the new helmet. Be the first to own these exclusives!

Question:

When I see mention of using "custom" equipment and stuff, I read that as being "non-LEGO" equipment.

So, if somebody wanted to, could they use a MegaBloks sword in one of the custom categories?
