CCC II: Entries Page and Thumbnail Update

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to our secret computer guru, the Colossal Castle Contest II Entries pages are up and running :D

http://www.classic-castle.com/events/co ... ntries.php

Select a category and click go. Most submitted entries at the time of this posting have been approved and are visible. However, due to folder renaming problems at brickshelf (some folders have been given a // instead of /) some entries can not be posted right away. Some entries by Lord Mikal, Jordan Jones, Bluesecrets, and Greg3 have broken links. We will put these up as soon as brickshelf solves their problem.

A few notes for submitting entries. Please make sure you enter the proper brickshelf link to your folder. Some people have not been doing this properly so we get incorrect links or links to a folder with subfolders to different entries. Make sure you link directly to the folder with your three images.

Also, some people are not giving correct brickshelf thumbnails. On your brickshelf folder with the three images, right click on the image you want and go to properties. This will give you a link to that image's thumbnail which you can put in the entry form. Another solution would be to make your own thumbnail and link to that.

Any additional questions about entries and the entries page can be posted here.

I submitted an entry but I think I made some errors. Should I re-submit it?

Yes you can re-submit if your creation has not been put on the entries page yet. Then the admins will delete your old entry and upload the new one.

Important Update:

No bitmap images will be allowed in this contest. Please use smaller formats such as .jpg and .gif. Several admins have dial up service and can not take the time to look at 3 800kb images in entries. Please convert your files or your entry will not go live. Thank you.

If you guys are having problems on re-sizing in photoshop, use the file\automate\Fit Image and enter your pixels and voila =)

Kudos to all involved. :D

I will however restrain myself from talking about any entries in particular until AFTER the contest, but I just wanted to make sure everyone here goes to check out the entries pages even if you don't plan on entering. :D

I need to post in order to clarify submissions of thumbnails for the contest. Thumbnails can only be smaller images of one of the three larger entry images. They should not be larger than 128x96 pixels.

If you are using brickshelf to host your images, they already have thumbnails. This is a convenient way of using them:

1. Go to your image folder (in this case my City Gate)

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=59006

Image

2. Right click on an image ( 0citygate.jpg ) and select "properties"

3. Under address/URL it will give the location of the thumbnail:

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Benja ... _thumb.jpg

Copy this code and paste it into the contest entry form.
It is as easy as that ;)
