Well, I finally figured out how to take close-up pictures with my digital camera, so I can show you the fruits of my LEGO efforts. Unfortunately, many of my pictures didn't upload from my camera correctly, but they're still clear enough. So to commemorate my... uh... 807th post... here it is:
My resident wizard, Mephisto (who is not like Majisto in any way!), recently moved into a new home. It's a small 3-story tower connected to a 4-stud-wide wall, which surrounds a small courtyard. Timber-frame construction is used on the third floor of the tower.

Here is a brick-built door. On the inside, there is a wooden beam to help keep intruders out. The wizards guards can stand on the walkway above the door and drop stones or hot oil onto attackers.

In the courtyard, you'll find the stables, a raging bonfire with meat roasting on a spit, and stairs leading up to the tower.

Also in the courtyard, you will find the guards' quarters. There are only two beds. This is because the guards do not live on-site, but rather in town with their families and report to the manor for their daily shift. They are, however, welcome to rest in the guards' quarters when they are not on duty and when their wives are angry with them.

The courtyard stairs lead to the second floor of the tower, which contains a small armory. The keymaster stands guard by the iron gate that blocks the door. From here, you can either descend the ladder to the dungeon or go up the stairs to Mephisto's master bedroom.

The ground floor of the tower contains a small dungeon. Inside you'll find a small cell and a whoopin' area. Another soldier stands guard outside the cell.

Mephisto's bedroom is on the third floor of the tower, and is accessed via stairs from the armory. Inside, you'll find a canopy bed, a writing desk, a bird on its perch, and a shelf containing all of Mephisto's potions. Mephisto decorates as lavishly as he can in this small space.

All of the floors are removable and the back walls are hinged to allow easy access for the Creator (Me!).

Great Wizard's home! The outside is a bit plain, but the details inside more than make up for that. I especially like the meat roasting spit and the guy hanging from the wall in the dungeon. I had never thought of using the keys like that. Good job! BTW, what is the dynamite just inside the brick built door for?

I stole the key idea from someone else... I can't remember from whom. You have to cut off the tip of the key to make it work, but the result is worth it, if you ask me.JoshWedin wrote:Great Wizard's home! The dynamite is there because I didn't have enough unprinted tiles.
Anyways, thanks for the comments, guys.

Yea, this is pretty sweet -
My too favorite sections are the stable (it's nice to see lego stables since there are always so many horses!) and the prison... I like the guy hanging by the wall! How did you do that? Very cool!
