Just wanted to remind you that the Masterbuilder >can< win another category.

And in responce to another question:

We don't publish the grades - it promotes people arguing why they got such-n-such a grade, and would lead to a less fun contest experience. If you wanna know how good your MOC is - then just post it in the MOC forum and ask for responces and advice.

About the contest - almost all of the top 5 runner's up could have won - it was a tough choice. The level of creativity and committment the people use for the contest just blew me away. I wish I had more prizes so I could give out more! Just so many MOCs that are so amazing!!

To say some specifics - Ley's 3CS House blew me away. IMHO, the most innovative MOC in the contest - impressive and inspiring for sure. Jonesy's Gryphon is the picture of what the contest is looking for: playability + details + creativity.

The Vingette category also blew me away - not just Greg3's amazing work, but especially Fryslayers. The Assassin vignette is so good - so much detail and action on such a small place.

Excellent for everyone!

It seems like the Admins did their 'job' on this contest, as most of the sets I thought should win did. I am just happy to see that some of my creations were well received :) . Thank you Admins for the contest, and congrats to all others who won and entered. It was fun!

Congratulations to everyone who won and were runners up. It must have been really close. Even though Legofreak's - Brother Padraig won in the 'Realistic/Historical' category, I feel Nick Great's - Red Samurai fig was much more creative. Nick you're a winner in my book, that Green Goblin mask Idea is top notch (I never would have thought of it.).

Hmm, I won ? I never win.... Really I think this is the first time I've won in any type of contest :D and to top it off my other entry made 3rd runner up, thats just awesome !!! I appoligize for being a little over zealous, but I can't help it. I won, woohoo !!!

Ok....

I'll shut up now...

You are welcome :)

The CC members never cease to amaze me with their creativity. As Lenny said, the grading was really close. Many of the runners up almost won. I also wish we had prizes for the honorable mention. Some of my favorite entries that didnt win were the CCC Shop Green Fox and psu_ericksons Sappers. Both were amazing mocs in my book.

We should be starting the Colossal Castle Contest III on November 1st, 2005. Be there! But in the meantime look for smaller contests we will likely run.

I want to add my thank you's for the Admin's too. Grading all of those entries must have been very time consuming and couldn't have been very easy either. You did an excellent job.

Thank you for running the contest in the first place. It was my first contest and I learned a lot by participating. Mostly I'm in awe of what other's can create and wish I could do the same.

No further public discussion of the Historical Figure Category, please.

This matter is being looked into, hopefully a solution can be reached.

Comments unrelated to the Historical / Realistic Minifigure Custom category are welcomed and encouraged.

Continuing this particular discussion publically will do no good.

Well after all of this silliness, I really want to congratulate all of the participants for making a go of it :) ! Again, it really is amazing at the number of talented builders we have here. And Ed, your longship rules! Soon you'll have to fill it with REAL Vikings!

Awsome stuff. Looking forward to CCCIII!

Later.

This is unbelievable.

I post my opinion, and I'm told it's wrong. And here
I thought people could actually post their views on
this stuff that we all "do". My bad.

I essentially get accused of "not going to deliver"
on my donated prize, of which I never said.
As Sava wrote -
--Anthony - who is still giving up an authentic 375 Knight with original stickers and weapons even though I was not impressed with the number of Yellow Castle entries.
Yeah...because that's a hard one to find anywhere
else, right? How many of those were made?

I'm told, that because a group of people have decided
that "Ninja" IS castle, that I must therefore follow.
Clearly, I'm not the sort to simply play follow the leader,
so forgive me if I don't jump on that wagon.

I'm given definitions of a word, like I don't know the
meaning OR how such a word could be interpreted.
(interpret - 1. to construe 2. to give one's own
conception)

Again - this is why there were 2 catagories; Fantasy and
Historic. Meaning - Fantasy customs based on actual
fantasy characters/icons, and Historic customs based on
"real"/historic medieval people. A generic dwarf is not
"Gimli", while a generic Knight is not the "Black Prince".
Those examples I just gave, are straight from the
conversation between myself and an admin concerning this
catagory.

From the catagory description -
Create a realistic/historical customized figure using modified bricks, custom accessories, and/or stickers. Ideas include armed knights, soldiers, monks, and villagers.
The description clearly does not specify that the entries must have any specific historical signifigance, and in fact suggest a monk as an idea. This description has been online ever since the beginning of the contest, and if you had a problem with it you should have spoken up before the contest ended.
Ok. You want to nit-pick, fine. It also doesn't clearly specify that
the entries must be no-name(or made-up named)personnas
of obvious everyday medieval people. And btw, I shouldn't
have to say anything about the entries being a problem.
It should have been obvious to the people in charge.

That's it, I've said my peace on the matter. If people can't
understand my opinion, or where I'm coming from, tough.
I'm not here to coddle anyone.

LAST MINUTE EDIT -
Anthony! What the frack is your malfunction?
The fact is he didn't do anything until he didn't get his way.
?????????????
THE FACT!?!? MY WAY!?!? That is total B.S., and you know it.
I don't agree with who won, and that's me not getting my
way??? How the frack do you people come up with this crap?
Man...talk about side-swiping someone and turning their
opinion into a boat-load of made-up, taken out of context crap.
Screw this! I thought I was done with the irrational, illogical,
play-ground tactics with FBTB! Wrong again.
