New MOC: Albirona's Hall

Hello!

Today I present the sheer MOC, the story will follow later.

This is Santa Maria Naranco, a preromanesque palace hall near Oviedo, Spain. Built by King Ramiro I. (842-50) for prestigious purposes, but it was later on changed into a churche dedicated to Maria, thus the name.

And this is, what I made of it:

Yes, I'm guilty of laziness. I didn't fix the loose bricks in the vault before I took the pictures... Maybe I'll fix that later.

The reason why it is called "Albirona's Hall" I'll tell when I have written the story, more precisely when I'll have written and translated the story. There will be additional pictures then. (Bruce, be patient! )

This moc looks really good. I love the ceiling. And those trees are just awesome. Great job!
The mottled look also looks great.
At first glance I thought there was a big smily face on the floor. ;-)

Stunning work, as always. I absolutely love the vaulted ceiling. It really looks big in the inside photos. The trees are masterpieces too. Was the real building actually mottled, or was it originally overlaid with another lighter(tan) stone that has since mostly fallen(or been stripped) away, since the tan seems to be more grouped around the corners? The roof is very nice, too. So many of those little roof slopes...Very nice. :D

It's beautiful!
That's a great MOC, I love the way the ceiling curves.
The floor looks really good too, did you use bley to do that?

Once again you demonstrate why you are the master, and we are but students. This masterwork is chalk full of fantastic ideas. I absolutely love the arched ceiling!

Oh, and Jojo, you are truly the master of furniture. Your solutions to furniture design are unequaled! Its been a long time since I've enjoyed a castle MOC this much!!

(Oh and for the floor did you use grey and the light grey included in mosaics?)

Just brilliant!

Later.

Awesome!

All your MOC's are great by the way, but this one is different. Love the ceiling and floor along with the landscaping you done. You put alot of thinking to this one which is good. Only one question, where are the minifigs?

This is incredible!

I really love the building. I remember seeing it a while back when your exchanged fig arrived for Christmas, I was hoping that this would be your next moc.

I like the fact that it is based off a real building, which I might add I am shocked that it is till standing and in good condition!

I really like the building, it is interesting to use it for the purpose that you do.

My favorite pic is this:

Great MOC JoJo!! I love the columns and the high ceilings. However, my favorite part is your trees. I always wanted to have larger trees in my own designs, but never figured out how to do it. Yours are very inspiring. :D

The trees are by far my favourite part, yet the ceiling is amazing too. Awesome creation, I love all the little detail.

I love it. Absolutely amazing. I love the trees, and will definately be stealing that design. Also the combination of tan and greys has an interesting effect. I like how the cats are around that barrell of fish. The drawers on the dresser are also very nicely done, as is the china closet. I must ask, where did the light pink wizard hat come from? And for that matter the light pink minifig body? And those blue window panes?

Detail Detail Detail! It's everywhere I look in this MOC, flawless in all aspects. Although I prefer the origionality of MOCs made straight from the mind, the fact that you were able to translate from pic to MOC so closely astonishes me. Great MOC!
