Tower from Idea Book #260

Post by Nathendricks428 »

I have built the tower from idea book #260.

See the picture in the idea book here:
http://library.brickshelf.com/gallery/s ... 0-1-30.jpg

You can see mine here:

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/nathe ... 0_0002.jpg
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/nathe ... 0_0003.jpg

I modified it alittle bit.

What do you guys think?

Good translation from pic to MOC. I have that idea book kicking around here somewhere, I can remember staring at that book as a child and thinking how neat it would be to have the pieces to build the entire setup on those two pages. Now I still have nowhere near that much gray but I am capable of building larger structures. Some larger pics would be neat but I think its safe to say that your translation is very acurate, even if it is slightly modified. If you have the pieces available it would be neat to see the entire two pages recreated.

I would love to create the structure on the entire two pages. I don't have enogh pieces though. I could probably get about a third of the structure on the other page if I take apart my Guarded Inn and some other stuff. I might create the entire structure in the future once I have more pieces.

I think you did a pretty good job, but the pics are alittle blurry. I remember that I used to have that book, but not anymore.
Keep up the good work.

I found out that I might have enough pieces to build the drawbridge.

Cool can't wait to see it built, if you decide to build it that is. Later

Very nice rendition, that tower (and now tht you mention it, the whole idea book) happens to be one of my favorites.

Hello!

I made the draw bridge. I modified this one also. The doors are black because that was the only color available, and I think that the left part of the draw bridge expands to become part of the dock, but I didn't have enough peices or time available.

Here is a picture of the bridge with the tower

Here is a picture of what is left of my idea book. I have had this for a while, and it has been to more places than I could event begin to list.

I was wondering Webrain.

Since you were involved in the making of that article, could you help me with something?

In my tower I don't have an iron gate because I couldn't figure out the right way to build it, and if it was on a string or not. I can't see a string in the book, but I do see a string in your picture of it.

Please send me a PM if you could help me with this. Thanks!

Ahh man, how I love those old books. I still go back and spend a couple hours pouring through mine every once in a while.
