Maze/dungeon at Texlug-Dallas/Fort Worth

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

It looks like someone brought this maze to a recent Texlug meeting. Perhaps it was for a D&D type game? Anthony, do you go to these meetings?

Also, someone brought this mosaic.

That mosaic is cool, but I'd get lost if I tried to make the maze :P

I really like the maze moc - Another great idea I want to use.
I wonder if you could put the landscaping and ruined keep above it and attach using those plate with pin pieces that were used around the edge - what companion piece would allow the levels to come apart if you used them?
Nice work.
and to state the obvious - the mosiac is labelled Kingsquest ...
Cheers

I wish I could go to Texlug meetings :(

But alas, I am broke and unable to travel very far. Plus being away from my collection means I can't bring any new or old MOCs to any meetings I could go to. Perhaps the future will change for that.

But in the mean time, those are very cool. The mosaic reminds me a little of the Peasant's Quest game on Homestarrunner.com, though I'm sure it has a much more serious lineage.

Wow! Those are great MOCs. The maze was great. I noticed it was made with a slightly small budget. I like that, even with a smallerish amount of pieces, he makes a great MOC.

The mosaic was great. Being a amateure (very much so) mosaic builder, I can't help but appreciate the work done. A very well done job.

I build, therefore I am.

The parts from the citadel of Orlan might be useful, that and those 2x1's with a hole in them because you can use technic stuff to connect it.
BTW Peasant's Quest is the parody of King's Quest :P

That maze is really cool. I think it would be neat if someone made somthing like that for the Minotor. (I think that's how it's spelled.)

The maze would be a perfect thing to be surrounding a wizards tower... but I certainly don't have the paitence to do that! Pretty sweet...

Peasant's Quest... I got lost on that too!

I recently joined TexLUG which held its spring meeting this past weekend (April 2-3). The meeting notes are available at:

http://www.texlug.org/

Also this same weekend, the Dallas/Ft. Worth folks decided to have their own meeting (there may be a TexLUG civil war brewing. I'm new, so just speculating.) It is too bad that we couldn't have had a single larger meeting. :?

I haven't searched for the Dallas pics yet, but some of the main meeting pics are posted with the notes at the link above.

Sorry you couldn't attend Anthony, TJ built a bridge spanning 19', it collapsed spectacularly, was rebuilt and lasted through the open-house the next day. We've got more pic and will Brickself them soon.

Wow. I'm really diggin' that maze. Very cool. I'd imagine that it's a blast to play BrickQuest or something similar in. That mosaic is very nice as well. It has a tapestry feel to it.
