Waroliphant

Post by jens »

Hi!

I've created some warelephants, inspired from the LotR-Movies.

The first one is only with three "plattforms", to carry archer or pikemen:

The second one is a twinlauncher oliphant which carries two cannons. This cannons are adjustable:

The only thing I've customised are the sticker on the shields.

The bricks I used, are mainly from the 7414 Elephant Caravan, 7184 Trade Federation MTT™ and 4481 Hailfire Droid

I hope you like it.

regards,
jens

Dude, thats great! The figs, the sheilds, the frankenstein heads (were you the jerk who got all of them from BL?). That is amazing. I suggest you sell those for custom sets @ $50.

I've never seen that head before... but it IS the perfect head for a creature army... hmmmm

Oh yea, and as I said in the other thread... VERY cool "oliphants". 8)

Don't have much to say beyond, "good job. Great idea." Both things well made. I like how you gave the oliphant a second set of tusks. I was a little turned off by the cannons (never really liked them on any castle MOC) but I really liked the white hand on the shield. Which incedentally was Saruman's symbol. Though I am going to guess that you didn't make that symbol with that in mind.

Oh yea, good point... actually, I was wondering what the insiration for the hand was... seemed a little out of place... was it from Saruman?

Yes, indeed, the white hand is for saruman. I tried first with a real hand, but in this way I liked it more.

That is so cool. Yet another thing I wanted to do that someone beat me too. Oh well, I'll just have to steal that too. :D

I add my voice to all those who have praised your creations. Very imaginative and inspirational.

I've seen the "white hand" shields before, and thought that was a very appropriate Lego rendition for Saruman's forces. However, they seem to me to be out of place with the oliphants as Saruman's forces never used them - it was the Southrons, I believe. All of Saruman's orcs were destroyed at Helm's Deep. Oops, I'm getting a little too OT, and exposing a bit too much Tolkien knowledge -- I do have a life.... really....

If being a well-educated Tolkienologist (to use a non-existent word) is the hallmark of a man of no life, then I am guilty in the first degree. And I'm only 18. And I like to THINK I have a life...

I, too, am very impressed by those orks of the White Hand. Those are really cool. And out of place as they look, they look no more out of place than cannons in middle-earth, so I'm willing to overlook it.

The oliphaunts are also very well-done, capturing quite well the feel of the movie-oliphaunts. I'm very impressed that you found a way to make them four-tusked, as I would never have thought of that, in all likelihood.

Amen to that, Formendacil.

Similar shoes here ...

But those War Eliphants are great ... I think that basket style is the best one I've seen yet!

I like the shields too, and the Jabba's Pig Guy (for the life of me I can't remember what they're called) head makes for a neat enemy pig soldier guy ...

Very, very nice. If I had any eliphants I'd rip that off for sure!
