Here's my entry for the Chess Set. I decided to go with a classic set, instead of using minifigs. I went a bit overboard with the actual board, but I like the results:
The board lifts off, allowing the pieces to be stored inside the keep.
The brickshelf folder (after moderation) has pictures of the individual pieces:

Enjoy!

Awsome work! I really like this 'complete' set-up. Even outside the comp this is a great MOC.
God Bless,

My turn.
Black Falcon's Peasant Army!
Pawns:
Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen (Yeah, it's a guy. Still, the most powerful piece on the board, right?), King, Bishop, Knight, Rook:
The backs:

Mikal, I like the idea of having peasants as pawns, because, well, a pawn is a peasant in a way!
erikut, I like the figs, very classical and nice looking. Though Im not too keen on the queen one.
Rosh's figs have been released on brickshelf, of what I can say about them is that the sticker quality is pretty good. Even the small details can be seen! Good job!

Well, I thought I would have a go and enter. The pieces are on a smaller board than the official, but they can be used on an offical one.
Here is my entry.

I know that the last pic has a black side, but ignore that, its not part of the entry.

Again, there are black pieces, but they aren't part of the entry.
