Jousting Knights for BrickFest
Jousting Knights for BrickFest
I've talked a lot about these guys, but there were no photos until now.
There is also an exploded view so you can make your own! They use pull back motors, and the knight is seated on a tile. If he is hit with a lance, then he falls off!
I've tested the knights a fair bit, and usually the joust doesn't go as planned. Either both knights fall, or they just crash. But either way, its fun to play around with them!

Thanks Lenny
Alex gets home from school in just a few minutes.. when he does, I think we'll build a couple of these.
they look like a ton of fun!
edit: ok we made ours, sans the pull back motors as we have none, and we didnt have the right colors so our horses and bardings are sort of psychedelic funkiness.. but they are just a lot of fun to mash into each other.

Hey Lenny,
So much cooler than 8779! Wish I had some pull-back motors to make some for myself.

If I had some pull-back motors, I'd build a couple of these right away. I bookmarked this--thanks for sharing!

I didn't know they were rare either. Must just be rare in castle collections. I have a bunch because I bought racer sets for their heads. Some actually have heads that are good for castle stuff.Glencaer wrote:I didn't know that pull back motors were so rare. You should be able to grab them for fairly cheap - I got one of mine from a $5 racer set.
On topic, I have to build some of these. Look like lots of fun!

But now we have the motivation. So in the long run, Glencaer has actually helped Lego's sales!Sir Dillon wrote:I don't think they're that rare, it's just none of us bought the racer sets.

Lenny,
I think this is one of the coolest Castle creations ever! Thanks so much for posting the inside pics... I have a number of racer motors and can't wait to build one (or two, or twelve)!!! Maybe I'll just make a whole army of wheeled knights!!

Lenny, these jousting knights should be flying off store shelves!
I would seriously think about submitting these to TLC!

TLC knows where to find me if they want to. Of course, Kjeld Kirk Kristianson, the owner of LEGO and grandson of the inventor of LEGO will be at BrickFest this year. Maybe he might see something he likes .Jacob C. wrote:Lenny, these jousting knights should be flying off store shelves!

Seriously, (though), I doubt TLC would purchase anything like this. It is a bit piece intensive - it is 42 pieces for something rather small.
Thanks DDDDM. I am also active in building scifi themes, like spaceships and robots - so I can find a use for just about any piece. One of my favorite things about LEGO is that there are always new pieces around that can be used in new and different ways. Being aware of what people build in trains or space or pirates is helpful in learning new techniques or piece usage.DarkDotDotDotMan wrote:It is because of people similar in behavior as Glencaer that makes me purchase lego sets' that I might not use later on in the future.
Too often I've seen a piece, thought it was totally useless, sold it on Ebay for a small amount and then saw the piece used in a creative way in a creation on BrickShelf. Of course, then I curse myself for selling it so cheaply beforehand.
Thanks for the comments everyone. IF anyone builds their own version of one of these guys, please let me know! It would be awesome to see one!
