The Outpost of Keirrod

Post by The Hordesman »

Before the release of the third chapter (I will take pics as soon Ive found the black hood that gone missing for no apparent reason) I thought I should show you all around The Outpost of Keirrod. No, I have no idea what Keirrod means, It just sounded cool. Unfortunatly I didnt have enough real red so I was forced to use some clone bricks... Oh well. The tudor tower is my very first, so Im kind of satisfied with it. The windows are really old lego windows from my father's childhood.

Story:
Keirrod is an outpost for Shadowkra placed in the north of Ramwylien, the land in which our heroes' are trying to leave for the moment. This will be the place in which the next chapter will take place for some part. Its made from red stone, common on the mountain peaks in the south of Ramwylien. Its controlled by Duke Niordes Rigwand, a very pleasant man for being a devoted worpshipper of the Sorceror.

Folder, when public:

The outpost from three sides:

Now to the tudor house, there are three things the Duke usually uses it to:
Sleep:

Worshipping the words of the Sorceror(things said by the Sorceror to Vladek and others written on a scroll):

And he can move his bed for a convenient toilet:

Now to the funny stuff:

Four forestmen hold in custody for anticipating in the rebellion against Shadowkra:
"Bu-but, it was a trend among us forestmen! We were ideological victims!"

(sticker credits goes to Lord of the Lego)

Two poor gong farmers arrive three months too late... Their escort finds it very funny...
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/TheHo ... uchjob.jpg

Three guards and watching two boys train for combat. The two axemen finds it disturbingly funny for no apparent reason(look at those crazy heads).
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/TheHo ... combat.jpg

The Duke, one Phalanx Captain and a Black Chainer discussing strategies while drinking some wine. Unfortunatly alcohol and important planning goes not well together.

Saibatar the bearer meets his old friend Ogedei the Black.
Saibatar is on his own now when the Black Chainer Captain is out in wars(the clumzy bearer is not needed in combat).

A phalanx has just used the toilet and goes back to duty. He is not sure if he was allowed to use the toilet in the Dukes private room so he sneaks past him on the way back... Unfortunatly leaving his pike as evidence. The grumpy guard on the right is too grumpy to do anything.

(Legofreak gets credits for torso)

At the entrance, two drunkards sit and drink. Noone knows how they got in there...

A peasant checks if the stones for throwing on enemies are of good quality.
Headcracking ability? Check.
Good grip? Check.
Good to aim? Check.

The hatch to the lower level. Im going to fix the interior later...

Its not the most awesome thing ever built, but its my first building using tudor so Im quite proud of it. What do you all think?

I apologize for any childish humour, but its hard to make funny pics without poo if the outpost has one of those garderobes...

I like it, I don't really like red, but it looks ok here.
But I don't understand how the... uhm... poo gets outside the house, it looks like it would just fall into the floor below. :?
The tuder also looks nice.
Keep up the good work :D

Thanks for the reply. The bed in the tudor structure can be moved (as shown above) for a small hole in the floor- the poo falls outside the building (see the gong farmer pic) since the tudor house is built out from the size of the outpost itself. This "toilet" is built from a few examples of castles seen around in sweden. Its pretty dirty, but they didnt bath much then either... Actually, Ive seen one example where the bed was built like this, though it was a servants bed.

I think it looks pretty good, I don't think I have the parts to make something like that. Keep up the good work!

Nice fortress, and thanks for giving credit! I'm honored. I never expected to actually see someone use my stickers! :D

So, how does the sticker look on the minifig? Could you perhaps snap a shot of him head-on? How do the details look? Is the elk on the medallion clearly visible?

Thanks again.

Heres a pic of the sticker in action:

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/TheHo ... ticker.jpg

The the elk is kind of blurry, but you know it is there. The different green is well visible however. :)
I needed a one more forestman, someone who was a little higher ranked so I printed this sticker. :)

Thanks for the comments, Ive been fixing the interior now and the backside is now better since I blocked a few small holes.

Hey,

Nice. I think brown would look a lot better than red... though for a first tudor the whole thing is nice... (as people may guess I'm not a big tudor fan at the best of times...) I like the vertical nature of the scenery but a little more detail would help and maybe a gentle slope on one side would be nice as well. Great work anyway though.

God Bless,

Nathan
