Claw Castle

Post by Sir Dillon »

Hey,
Here is my latest MOC; Claw Castle

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=135710

This is my biggest MOC so far, and is supposed to be the home of Sir Santis.
I'm pretty pleased with the final outcome, though I know it's not perfect.

Please let me know what you think :D

Dude, thats a castle. The timber-tudor house is nice(me likey those windows sticking out!). :) Reminds me of my Keirrod Outpost, but more detailed. However, there is a pic here http://www.lego.com/eng/knights/morcia.asp?x=x of Santis' castle(map section). It seems to be tan, but larger, but this may just be the inner building ;)

I love anything that folds open, whether it be a keep or tower.
This is pretty cool!
I like how you used the arches to support the interior structure.
The timber tudor section looks really good too.
I never realized how good black & brown go together.
I like the entrance stairs & the two lanterns on the side.
You gotta have the stairs lit up at night so no one trips!
Good work!

That's a very good-looking keep. I like how you put a lot of detail into both the interior and exterior, as well as making use of those weird 2x8x6 wall pieces. I'd make the roof over it stick out more with two 2x2 corner slopes so rain doesn't splash in as much, but that's the only change I'd make. Maybe install some anti-siege weapons.

What most suprises me is how good the dark bley looks, even next to the dark grey. It looks much more natural with the difference in colors.
Nice arrow-slits, too. :)

Azure, a saltire cantoned with a star in chief and in base and two crescents addorsed in the flanks, argent.

There's nothing wrong with it. I, too, love the way that it opens (I know how difficult it can be to make a castle MOC like that!) :D Keep it up!

Impressive. Simply impressive. Santis is my least favorite of the jellybeans, but he actually looks good in his own place. Who's that lady at the table?

Hmm. I never saw that. I think I'll just keep it as his home though, maybe he has two?

Thanks, when I was working on this castle, one of your keeps inspired me to change it to open like it does, instead of making the floors be able to come off.

I dunno, maybe his wife?
