Hey, a 26-year old impressing his parents with something he built out of a child's plastic building block toy? That's saying something.

Yeah, I'm 31 and do the same thing. 8) And not surprisingly, my mom is way more impressed with my MOCs than my wife is. What's up with that? :?

Let's hope your wife doesn't read this forum... otherwise it's the couch for you!

Wives seem less impressed by what we can build that parents are. I am 30 and my wife saw the castle I built back in January for the train show and all she said so if you can build that, where are the shelves for my pantry.

My folks on the other hand were amazed what could be made with LEGO. :D

I can't wait to see the castle Anthony!

After a long absence, I have returned. I can't wait to start building again.

attitudes toward LEGO

Interesting - I find that my parents tolerate LEGO without getting particuarly excited, but my g/f is genuinely impressed.

Construction update: Day 17 of construction:
-Outer gatehouse complete.
-7 of 8 outer wall segments complete.
-Ran out of a particular piece, order in the mail to restock.
-Order in the mail also contains the blue bricks to finish the moat.
-Designed (in my head) a better support structure than originally planned.
-Pictures taken.
-Will release one picture when inner castle complex is seated inside the outer complex.

Anthony's posted that pic in this thread, so I'll lock this topic and let people respond over there.
