C-C.com Checkmate Chess Contest Winners!
First of all, the admins would like to express a big "Thank You" to all who entered our little contest. Grading was pretty tough.
We had a very close race for the finish, but in the end, here are the winners and runners up:
Single Chess Piece
Winner 1st place:
SirDrake, white knight:
While it didn't quite fit the rules for maximum size, because what did overlap was adjustable (the lance) and it did recieve the highest number of points, we declared it the winner.
Runner's Up (in no particular order):
Jim, Rook 1
Jim, Rook 2
SirTerrance, black knight
Chess Set
Winner 1st Place:
Jim, entry1:
Runners Up (in no particular order):
bluesecrets, entry 1
Jens, entry 1
Jim, entry2
JoshWedin, entry 1
JoshWedin, entry 2
If the winners would please email me with their mailing addresses, I will begin making arangements to ship their prizes to them.
I'd say this contest was a great success! Congratulations to the winners and runners up, and thank you to all who entered!

Cyclonis,
Look for the CCIII to start around November and end at the start of January, or thereabouts. We're not even thinking about the details yet. In the meantime I'm sure we'll have other smaller contests like the chess contest or the seed part challenges.

What a great surprise before work, both my sides were runners up! And a hearty congratulations to SirDrake and Jim! You both definitely deserved to win.
SirDrake,
I wracked my brain for weeks trying to figure out how to build a piece that would be more creative than yours. I tried out all kinds of stuff and finally gave it up the day of the deadline. Way to go!
Jim,
Loved your winning entry, very creative. And you really owned this contest, all your entries either won or were runners up. Awesome job!

I looked at the seed part challenge, and it was dated May. Why is that? And If I have an entry for the challenge where do I submit it?Bruce N H wrote:In the meantime I'm sure we'll have other smaller contests like the chess contest or the seed part challenges.
