the vignette, obviously, represents Sauron in Mount Doom, with his mace and the One ring.

I really like Saurons head, the vig itself is quite simple but you see where it is.
But one thing that you are mot so aware of i think is how the ring was made.
Sauron was standing in the huge volcano, he had a lot of floating gold in his hand for some reason, then he took his dagger and stabbed himself in the hand. I suppose that hurted a lot ads so the blood miked up with the gold and became the ring.
So what the heck is Sauron doing with his maze (im not sure how i spell that word).

As a representation of Sauron from the movies, he looks pretty good. I actually have to agree with Erikutt in that I'm wondering what his mace is doing at the forging of the Ring. It's a cool-looking mace, sure enough, but I rather doubt that he needed it on hand at this point...
I am perfectly aware of how the ring was made, historically...
In the begining scenes of the PJ Fellowship movie, however, Sauron can be seen standing in the fires of Mount Doom, raising the One in admiration. This is what I tried to capture in the vignette. As for his MACE, what difference does it make? This is not meant to be a direct portrayal of an actual event, it is an expression of emotion and thought about a specific concept.

That's the best Lego Sauron I've seen... of course, it's the only one I've seen, too. Well done!

Re: sauron...
I like it as a rendition of the movie Sauron. I'd never really thought of a physical manifestation of him as the books only mentioned it as something in the past. Too bad there isn't a way to have the Ring and his mace weilded by the same hand.boses wrote:while working on another model, I built this brick-only Sauron...

One idea that comes to mind, though I don't know if you can make it work...
Would a 1x2 grill tile work as part of the helmet? In any case, your use of hinge plates is excellent in rendering the feel of his helmet.
Well done!
Alan
PS Oh, and one more thought... how about adding 1x1 plates to the bottom of his feet to add a bit of height. Just a thought.
