Tower and Waterfall

Post by Brick Man »

Hey guys,
I'm new here but i have been lurking around this
forum for a little while now looking at all of the Castle MOC's, Reading posts and stuff like that. :D
So finally i decided to post a MOC of my own. :)
A while ago i wanted to build a castle, but since
i dont have enough gray bricks to build a good size
Castle(Or even a small one) i decided that a tower
would just have to do.
And after looking around BrickShelf
for some ideas, i made a nice little tower of my own on my first attempted :D . After looking at some other models i decided that my tower needed a bit more,
So i put some nice windows on it and added a little bit more Architecture(I guess thats the word i'm looking for) to the front of it.
And than i added a few minifgs and things like that, and was happy with what i had made.
But after a while i started to think that it needed some more landscape around it.(Since it was just the tower and nothing else besides a tree or two.)
and so i thought it would look cool with a Waterfall beside it.
So i made a waterfall out of those Rock/Cliff pieces
with some blue bricks running down the front of it.
and i thought that it looked Ok for a first attempted.
Than i had to make a river run out from the bottom
of the waterfall, and after that a bridge going over the river, and after that i had to make the set longer and kept going intill i ran out of every green and gray brick i had.(Save a few gray Plate bricks.)
And than i finshed it by adding some more detail work around the Landscape and puting some minifigure on it.

I'm happy with the way it turned out, and think that it will be a fun set to keep for a while and to play around with.
But i still can't believe that i ran out of all of my green bricks, i always thought that i had alot more than that!

Well, I hope i hav'nt bored you all to tears writing this overly long post... so i'll just end it here and post some pictures!

*wipes away tears*

Just kidding, this is a very refreshing moc. Has a great visual appearence, it displays forms of action, it's cool. I like the waterfall, looks realistic. Plus, you did a great job putting the spiral staircase in your keep.

Awsome job, wish I could build as good as you do! :D

Oh yeah, welcome to the CC!

:D Welcome to CC! :D

This is a really cool MOC. The tower's small, but it looks like it could take quite a beating. This really shows what someone could do with limited grey.

I also like the terrain. It's simple, but believable. And that wizard(?) crossing the bridge somehow reminds me of Gandalf.

Hi! Welcome to CC!

First, your avatar is sweet - I liked it.

The MOC is cool - the waterfall is well done, and the bridge/stream is cool too. The little tower is well-built - it's looks pretty solid and realistic.

My only complaint is that it might be a bit too busy for a woodland scene... maybe consider taking a few figs out? Just my opinion, and anyway, very well done!

>>EDIT - I like the way you did the guy swimming - heh heh

That's awesome! You did a great job on the waterfall and cliff. The little castle outpost is pretty neat too. I also really like the green hil with the small dirt bluff. And I have to chuckle at the minifig up to his neck trying to swim the river. You did a good job breaking up the green expanses with some some rocks and the like. Great little set up. Makes me want to go do some scenes like this. :D

BTW, how'd R4 get in there?

Oh, and if you took all of those photos with your webcam, then you've got a pretty good webcam. Most of the photos look great. :D

I'm liking landscaping more and more ever since I started seeing really good stuff. (This counts pretty well. ;)) I can hardly wait to finish my castle and start landscaping. Thanks for more inspiration. Nice use of the pieces you have too.

Brickwars is essentially having a big battle with your Lego, except with rules. Kind of like an RPG. I've never played Brickwars, mainly because I've never had someone to play with.

Here's the official site for it: http://www.brikwars.com/

Hm...it's been awhile since I visited brickwars. Awesome art they have.

I never really thought of that - that's true! It's got everything needed - small keep, waterfall, stream and bridge, trees. 8)
