009 Castle of the Wizard

Post by Graynar »

Hey guys!

Its been a while since I put some mocs in but today I decided to.

My new pretend LEGO theme is a fantasy one. I may be sick of the fantasy KK2:2, but I enjoy making my own.

This is 009 Castle of the Wizard:

Please tell me what you think, and I accept questions to.

I like it, very nice design. It would become a very cool LEGOset. I really like the way it opens up but I´m not sure about the dragon. It looks a bit.... I don´t really know what to say :P, Bulky perhaps?

But otherwise it´s very good ;)

That's really good. Does Lego Factory take minifig-scale sets? :D

I like how it opens up, and the block dragon is way better than the one-peice dragon you know lego would put in

The best part is, even though it's a lot better than most of what Lego's cranking out, it still looks like something lego would do, and it is more than just anothe action set.

Great Job!

I like it. Nicely modular, and good design. I agree, it does look like something Lego would put out. You even put in computer done stuff. Nice.

Not much I can say that the others haven't said yet. Nice work, once again! I look forward to seeing the rest of your series.

Wow...

I saw this set and I thought I posted to it, but I guess not. I really really like it! OK, I admit, this is a better use of the "Fantasy" theme to LEGO than KK2 - I like the way it's playable, but functional - that's the mark of the "good ol days" of lego... and few big old nasty pieces too! Great job -

Also, looks like your photo editing is improving - I like the flames and what not.

:(

it's not because it's you, gray, but I really don't like this one much.

I guess the only things that make it look weird are the two tower things poking out. The black wall piece looks out of place and the back tower looks unfortified/weak.

Good castle! I like the photo editing a lot, and the castle is well designed. Lego should turn this into a set!:D

Your castle does have quite a few nice touches, like the colur galss window, the catapult, the gate lock. I like the skeleton's cage! Did you use parts from your Vladek's castle?

Thanks for the comments guys!

Only the metalic armours, crystal ball, and prisoner cage from the Scorpian prisoner cage set.

You'll notice, sometimes I include real LEGO LOCs in my sets. This time it was the cage.

Thanks to the GIMP software, now I no longer have to use MS paint for my computer effects! :D

I just got GIMP, and I was wondering what part of it you used to do the effects. I don't see anything that would do that.

Cool! I like the FX you put in. I also llike the fantasy twist to it. The dragon, at first glance, looked like a "mech-dragon" and that's not a bad thing, since it's a fantasy based theme.

*thumbs up*

I had to expirement with paintbrush and pencil tools. And sooner or later, I began getting some cool effects.

Try the sparks setting with divide, it creates a cool blue effect.
