New MOC: Bakery

Post by marakoeschtra »

Hello !

This is my latest castle MOC, a bakery: (pic=link)

Image

Image link changed to thumbnail link by admin. Please do not post images in the forums larger than 400x300 pixels. Thank you.

I've been working on it the last few weeks, but the
interiors aren't ready yet (there's more to come  )

It represents the home of the Royal Bakers Guild,
wich supplies the king with the finest bread and pastry.

I've used quite some SNOT in this one, obviously in
the tudor walls but also on the landscaping.

Please tell me what you think :D

I like your bakery very much! It's a very masterfully made MOC, I suppose you have quite some experience making MOCs. The English beam walls are excellent, very intricate design and I assume took much planning. The 4-sided roof with attic windows and corners is truly impressive. The stream and the plants growing near it are very nice! You could make a willow tree there, too. The bridge is great, how did you make it?
Also, I see a hanging footpath behind the bakery, that's also very neat. It would be good if you took pictures of all four sides.
It seems that the tree must have taken ages to make, and many foliage pieces used. I like the raven in the tree!
How did you make the sides of the platform?
Very good MOC, probably one of my favourites. I am looking forward to seeing the interior!

The bridge is great, how did you make it?
Well, I just took some black flex hose, cut it into the desired lengths and then put the brown 1x6 tiles on with
two of these each.
I made the railing with black robot arms and some more flex cable.
It would be good if you took pictures of all four sides.
Actually, I did  . Just look in the gallery a litter further.
How did you make the sides of the platform?
I guess you mean the platform where the house is partially built on ?
I used that technique before on my Walled City
Actually, this is done with basic SNOT, only on a larger scale than the common purposes of it.

That is terrific. I especially like the landscaping and all the little details -e.g. the dam and waterwheel. How long does it take you to build something like that?

Wow, Martin. This is another awe-inspiring MOC. In addition to the arched bridge and the tudor walls, another favorite detail is the water wheel. I can't wait to see the interior as well.

I love the way you placed the plates, going vertical and diagonel, very beautifully done. This is really a work of art in my eyes, gives it a very useful and very lush feeling. All the nature aspects plopped about while showing all the different areas used by the bakers, I'm really excited to see the inside.

Really this is just beautiful, well done.

Beautiful!

I think my favorite parts is not the bakery itself but everything else: the bridge, the wheel, and especially the Royal Knights boat. I loved how you adopted the official LEGO Viking set design into it.

Excellent work, as always! :D

Wow! This is beautifully done. I love all the details and the action/interaction of the minifigs. It all has a very realistic feel and really makes this MOC sing.

There are so many details I love about this... the bridge, the waterwheel, the stream, the tree... very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Fantastic work! I love the half-timber construction on the upper floors, the simple stonework on the lowest floor, the Technic baguettes, the pulleys, and as others have said, the bridge and landscaping. Great work!

I always like to see great creations like this populated, so kudos for including people doin' stuff!

1 - what are the two men at the bottom of the wheel doing?
Funny that you recognized them as men, I didn't mean them to be adults, but as kids.
They're building a dam, but I doubt if they have chosen the right spot to do it  .
2 - does the wheel turn (motor or bush round) or is it static?
I haven't installed a motor yet, but may be I will.
The wheel does turn by hand now.
3 - if your baker opens the gate won't the water from the wier wash them away?
Let's say that it's a very silent and peacefull little lake,
that wouldn't wash people away, will it ?
4 - can you post lots of photos of the interior when its done please?
Yes, I will, but it may take some more time...

Pretty much everything everyone else said is what I was going to say, but I just want to say now that that is the biggest bakery I've ever seen. You do good work, I can't wait to see the interior!
