brick-built goblin king...

Post by boses »

Here is the king of my cliff goblins...

Image

And here are a couple of deeplinks...

The goblin king is characterized by his terrible huge jaw and menacing horns...

Please tell me what you think...and by the way the head is meant to be out

of proportion...this is a monster, after all...

He sort of looks like the wart hog from the Lion King. I like the use of the clips as teeth.

Great work.

lil jon-

thanks, I always intended for my goblins to resemble a combination of a bull frog and a warthog, and I am glad you like this example...

Haha, now that you point it out, I really do see a bull frog in there too because of the eyes on the top of the head. Nice to see you have a concept that you build from.

You should post an exploded head so others could see how you build this. Usually I can tell, but on this one, I'm not too sure.

The only thing I'd change is the eye color. I'm not a big fan of the trans, neon, yellowish green color, but that is a personal choice.

No. It doesnt. Its much larger, yet keeping the aspects of the goblin.

I really like these guys, though I prefer the long eared, long nosed green goblins of common fantasy.

Here is a cliff goblin, talking to a halfling...

You can see the difference in size and proportion that the two archetypes have...

I don't know about exploding heads, but here are some closeups of the goblin king, partially deconstructed...

Hey, that's exactly what I was thinking before I scrolled down. :D (Well, not Pumbaa specifically...)

Nice work, boses! And thanks for the deconstructed pics as well.

Hey, thanks for the shot of him with his face off. I didn't know they had the battle droid arm in the back for hair. I like the hair. It sort of reminds me of a dreadlock type thing, like the other wookie in episode III had (sorry, I forgot his name). It is a hair style that fits a goblin.
