This sounds really cool and I´d be happy to join. But I´d like to have factions and number/types of "sets" a bit more clear than it´s right now. If we could just calm down a bit and discuss it...

And Ayden, please drop that "chat-language" No offence meant but it´s a bit hard to read...

So, are we talking about making things that would lend themselves to official theme sets? Does that mean we can't build things with 4 walls?

Or are you saying "let's all build fantasy"? Because I'm up for that.

Well, I'm not very good with creatures.
I'll make a few humans

I'm in. Sounds like fun, although I'm not too sure about what theme to make sets of.
And stop the Megablokky IM talk. Its annoying, it looks scabby and its hard to read.

Oh and I think it would be great to have certain people in charge of themes. We should make this the 'planning' thread and then make a totally new thread for the sets.

I would suggest putting two or three people on each faction concept. If you put too many people on a faction (or allow freedom of movement between factions) then it's going to get extremely jumbled -- very quickly.

Instead, why not make a list of possible factions.. for example:

Serpent Knights (similar to the Dragon Masters)
High Elves
Wood Elves
Dwarves
Dark Dwarves
High Men (similar to Tolkien's Numenoreans)
Orcs
Undead Legion
Barbarian Horde

Then have a sign-up sheet.. the first three people to 'claim' a faction will be the team to work on that particular faction, and everyone else must choose a different faction.

Maybe you can even get Classic Castle to sponsor the effort as a contest -- the team that comes up with the best Minifigs/Buildings/whatever for their faction wins, or something.

Anyway.. just an idea (I have a knack for organization).

Although I have no digital camera, and virtually no bricks (I'm still in the process of re-buying sets and bricks since my little tragedy), so this suggestion is really the extent of my involvement in this idea. Good luck, though.

I like Damien's idea, so copy/paste this signup sheet with your name on the faction you want...

If you want to add a faction, I would ask Ayden.

Serpent Knights (similar to the Dragon Masters)-EofAlshire
High Elves
Wood Elves
Dwarves-EofAlshire
Dark Dwarves
High Men (similar to Tolkien's Numenoreans)
Orcs
Undead Legion
Barbarian Horde

Only about 2-3 people on each faction please!

So we´ll use these factions??? I thought it was just an example... But I have no problem with it.

High Elves
Wood Elves
Dwarves-EofAlshire
Dark Dwarves
High Men (similar to Tolkien's Numenoreans) - Maedhros
Orcs
Undead Legion - Maedhros
Barbarian Horde

And what faction coat-of-arm should represent the High Men? I´d like Knight´s Kingdom I or the Royal Knights...

A caeveat for all you emptors- I'm away from my collection and might not get a chance to do any actual work for a month or so. If this will be a problem just remove me from the list.

That list of factions was, actually, just an example. But hey, if you guys all want to use it -- go for it. They're all pretty solid ideas, if I do say so myself.

For the sake of organization... here's the master list so far:

Serpent Knights
-EofAlshire

High Elves
-Arwen

Wood Elves
-babyjawa
-erikut

Dwarves
-EofAlshire

Dark Dwarves
-Azaghal

High Men
-Maedhros
-Luis

Orcs

Undead Legion
-Maedhros

Barbarian Horde

Pretty good turn out for under a day of responses.

Yeah.. I'm double-posting...

I think it would be a good idea to also put down some guidelines. For example.. one of everything.

Meaning, you only have to make one "basic soldier of this faction" and one "leader of the faction" and one "elite soldier of this faction" - etc etc etc.

That way no one feels penalized for not having enough minifigs to create a gigantic army of their new faction. This will especially help people who have few minifigs, or are stretching themselves over two different factions (as some of you are).

But most importantly, it keeps things fair. It's not fun to have someone else's presentation look better just because they had more stuff, right?

Obviously that's just an idea.. no one has any obligation to listen to me.. haha. So I'm just putting it out there for all of you to agree to or not, at your discretion.
