Well, the last couple of weeks have been productive, LEGO-wise, but I don't think I'm going to be able to upload pictures of my latest MOCs without causing a ruckus. (Let's just say they're more than a little politically charged.)
But today, I finally got back to building some more Narnia vignettes. Here's the first (deep links):

I don't want to overexplain this one for those of you who haven't read the book yet. Any explanation would be a serious spoiler.
Please let me know what you think. Oh, and here's the folder (when public).

That's a cool vignette of the stone table. You might want to put some ropes on the table though.

Hey Duney,
Great scene! I'll put it up tomorrow (right now I want to keep Alan's 9-11 memorial vig front and center).
BTW, nothing wrong with a little ruckus. I've been thinking of doing some vignette-style political cartooning myself. Looking forward to seeing your other creations.

That's real nice. I especially like the inclusion of Reepicheep's ancestors (hinting at future vigs? ).
One semiquibble: I always pictured the Table as round. Is this just me, or does it say so in the book, I can't quite remember...either way, you did a great job of showing it broken in half. Keep it up!

Henry: I thought of trying to do something with ropes, but the little black strings are pretty silly looking, and something brick-built would be too bulky. Suggestions for other solutions are welcome, though!
Bruce: Cool! And I don't think I'd seen that 9/11 vig before. In terms of ruckeses, we'll see... Would you mind if I sent you a pic (once I've taken one) to get your opinion?
Ayden: Excellent question! To be honest, I haven't figured out how I'm going to work Aslan into my MOCs -- especially at vig scale.
Azaghal: Reepicheep is probably my favorite character. I donno about the table. I've always pictured it square, but maybe that's just because my imagination is limited by the word "table." And I can't seem to find the book at the moment (probably buried under LEGO boxes somewhere here in the living room). A round table is actually a really cool idea. If the book doesn't say, a round version might actually look better.

Re: The Stone Table
Don't worry about that, I made some of my own political vigs during the last election:Dunechaser wrote:Well, the last couple of weeks have been productive, LEGO-wise, but I don't think I'm going to be able to upload pictures of my latest MOCs without causing a ruckus. Feel free to send me a preview pic as well.
As to the table: I like it. It's a bit simple, but I like how the stone looks cracked.

Hemp cord could work, even though it's not Lego. I think it would look good, considering how rough it is and all.Dunechaser wrote:Henry: I thought of trying to do something with ropes, but the little black strings are pretty silly looking, and something brick-built would be too bulky. Cool vigs, Nathan -- though I disagree that the candidates were indistinguishable. I especially like the recount vig. The concept is good, but the ceiling fan and the stacked ballots are great.
Henry: Hmmm... That's not a bad idea, though it's not a pure LEGO solution.
