FirePlace

Post by CAI »

Hi. Built this fireplace for the thrown room for my current MOC. I liked how it turned out. My current MOC is gona take a lot longer so I thought i'd share the fireplace now.

It may not be the final version, depending on how the MOC expands.

Connected to WIP, a shot from where the thrown will be:

Wow, and that's just part of the MOC?

It looks really good, you've got the mottling down pat. I eagerly await the completed building.

PS: A fireplace like that deserves a secret passage inside. Think about it.

I really like the details (axes, shovel & broom) and the mottling - as well as the size!. Very impressive.
I like the grate and the fire nice use of the levers, and great work with the flame pieces.
Cheers,
Bert.

That's funny, it seems that CAI hasn't "captured" the Dragon Master faction..
I do like the vaulted ceiling.

That's true -- I hadn't noticed that! Very nice indeed. Can't wait to see what this fits into.

Excellent! It's huge. I love the last WIP picture, with the added torches and floor, etc. This is nice work.

That is great work. The detail is very good. My favorite part is the smoke at the top. That is great use of the 1 by 1 rounds.

I can't wait to see it when it isn't a WIP.

Glad you guys approve :D . I'm not to sure about a secret path way for it, I may work that in to the thrown area, for a kings escape. Thanks for the idea. Thinking of adding two tall towers to the left and right of it.

At the base of each tower will be a room(containing what, I haven't decided)and a smaller fireplace that connects to the large smoke stack.

The path way on the top of the fireplace arch will lead to two doors that access different levels of the towers. Depending on the hight of the towers, I may have to increase the hight of the smoke stack.

The roof for the thrown room will either be slanted black plates or black slopes.

Cheers.

Nice, the grate is my fav detail! Though the over-all size is nice as well.

God Bless,

That fireplace looks very cozy! My only suggestion would be to place the birds so that they face inward, but it still looks great. I can't wait to see the completed model!
