One-Stop Shopping--A Street Section

Post by plums_deify »

When the muses call, it is unwise to ignore them. So, I built in a style that was very new to me. So, here we go!

A shot of the street shows some lovely store fronts. Specifically, the Bank and the Herbalist's Shoppe. You can't see them, but there is a tavern and an Armory retailer behind the shops. The white on top is the living quarters of the shop keepers.

What's new for me is that each roof is removable.

The gallery is public, so feel free to browse through the shops, and see the items available. Please stop in at the tavern, and enjoy the home brew. Thanks for shopping! ;)

Whoa, I never would have thought of a bank for a village. The armory is way cool too. And your affinity for plants is again exhibited, this time in the herbalist's shop.

Removable roofs: yay!

Great display, I love how you made a back alleyway with the guy sharpening his sword.

Hey Darkie,

Way to go! My two and half year old son walked up while I was looking at your pics and he said,"Dats sweet! Right, Dad?" Yes, they are. I like how you fit four shops in such a small area. Great detail in each one and I see the black dragons are gracing the door of another tavern. Is it a franchise? :) They are perfect for that. The removable roofs are a very nice touch. My favorite shop is the armory. One question though, what is that fig supposed to be holding in the armory?

Good Job,
Josh

This was pretty cool to look at - I really like the armoury and the tavern - especially the green chalices. I think the everyday scenes (and especially a marketplace) can be more challenging than one may think, becuase there is a lot of detail and "life" that one must account for when building the scene. Good job, definately a plus that you allowed the roofs to be so easily removed.

Thanks, guys!

Josh--Yup. It's a Black Dragon Franchise. They find that there's more profit in back alleys than anywhere else. ;)

The store owner in the armory is holding a Pear. You can see it in action here. I figure it's a good way to deter shoplifters and free-loaders alike.

This took me about two days to build. The buildings were pretty quick, but the roofs took a bit more time. I wanted to make sure the colors were all matching. That was a bit more difficult, as my collection is not sorted.

Wow... I had never heard of the pear device... that explains what that was all about... and here I thought he was just shoving something into Rascus's mouth... and yet he still smiles and winks? I'm starting to think he is a bit insane, heh heh heh... Nice touch with the Pear - interesting site too - good for reference (although slightly disturbing).

Now that you mention it, that really does look like a pear! Great job! For some reason, the pear has always freaked me out. For some reason, the thought of my mouth and jaw being slowly broken and mangled gives me the creeps. :?

Great work. :) Even though I'm not a fan of tight rooms, you sure filled them with a lot of great details. Love the street and the alleyway design.
Excellent MOC Darkie. :)
