CCC3: A common, simple life

Post by KennDoubleN »

Two entries for CCC3 (though I think I'll re-photograph in natural light):

First, the sunken/sod house of a Viking family

Second, a Roman lighthouse converted into a medieval church. This one is inspired by a real place in Dover that I came across trying to look up medieval lighthouses. White cliffs are bonus.

Oooh, white cliffs!

I think the roman tower has too many pictures, you might want to fix that. Limit is 3.

Very clever roof man, very clever. What categories are you entering these into?

Thanks, yeah, I know about the pic limit, it just takes me a while to decide which ones I want to use...

I did completely forget to mention categories, though: Viking and Medieval Life, respectively.

Thanks for the compliments.

Very nice roof on the cottage. I would like to see some shots on how you did that. :D

I agree with this on both counts - I've never seen a roof like that - at first I didn't even think it was LEGO built. Very cool and unique use of bricks to make a cool looking roof.

I really like the viking house. The roof is very interesting. I like the detail of the people working outside.

Great work.

Both very nice MOCs! I really like the use of rounded walls for the roof of the viking house, very creative and authentic looking as well. The little snipits of life you add with the minifigs are also good. Keep it up.

Merry Christmas!

Okay, I updated the folder and included a shot of the roof interior here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1524652

In addition to 4-studded headlight bricks at the ends, there are four spears clipped inside to strengthen the connections, 2 attached to the side (not really visible) and two attached to the hinge pieces.

Thanks for the comments,
Kenn

Both these MOCs are great and display a brilliant personal flair that a lot of models lack. Great work! The cliff in white is brilliant... I would only add a small touch of tan.

God Bless,

Nathan
