CCC3 - 2 new MOCs

Post by Mark Stafford »

Hi,

I've been busy. CCC3 has got me inspired!

First a Bakery:

Then a Mail Coach:

I also posted a couple over the weekend.
In Seige Scene:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=157505
In Custom Figure:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=157504

Thanks to the CCC3 for inspiring me. I'm afraid that's it for me though, I've no time to make anymore MOCs as I'm away from Monday until 13th January!
Please let me know what you think of these, I'll respond until I leave!

Cheers and Merry Xmas,
Mark.

WOW! I'm impressed. These MOCs display talent and skill. Your bakery had just enough colors and just enough detail. It was simple, yet simplicity is what makes great MOCs. The mail delivery looked good as well. Although it wasn't exactly 'castleish' it was good in is composition. Like the bakery it had just enough detail and perfect color. Of all the four your posted, my favorite is the siege scene. What caught my eye was the action involved in the MOC. The flames were the star of the show ;) Your custom fig was amazing. I've never found a way to create a fig body out of something other than what TLG created. Good work!

The minifigs you used with the coach are absolutely perfect. Excellent choices all around.

I think my favorite is Cogitry Throckwood- even if it isn't a custom per se.

Great work all around!

Thanks for the kind words.

The coach is probably my favourite too as it came out closest to the picture in my head. I did really enjoy doing the seige scene though - something about a burning mini-fig that brought great enjoyment!

As for 'Cogitry' he was almost an accident, ways to make him kept popping into my head while I was doing the seige scene and wouldn't go away until I'd built him! (Though originally all the purple bits were black and he had a D.Vader head)

Cheers,
Mark.

I like the siege scene the best, and I love the use of the antennas to look like splashing oil, I hadn't seen that done before. I looks like those soldiers storming the wall are getting the worst of the deal at the moment, in spite of the civilian look to the defenders. How rude of those soldiers to take on a bunch of old men and families to begin with... I think I'd pour burning oil on them as well. I love the colored band in the wall as well, it gives it a very classy look.

Very nice entries! I really like the bakery, nice use of colors for the roof, and I love how you built the small bread stand. Also, the small ridge on the windows are an excellent touch. The coach looks great too. Awesome work and Merry Christmas!

Cheers guys,

I really like posting here! You guys notice all the little details!! I never thought anyone would notice the window-sills on the bakery or the splashes of oil or two colour band on the seige scene!

I'll be sticking around after CCC3, maybe I'll build a full castle for the first time in four years!

Anyway, I'm away for a long awaited holiday tomorrow and won't be back until January 13th. So good luck and good building to you all, have a brick filled Christmas and a happy new year!

Mark.
