Stave Church

Howdy -

The vikings combined art and architecture in their woodcraft, with the pinnacle being the Stave church. They built as many as 1000 stave churches during the transition from Paganism to Christianity. These wooden churches were built using framed walls with large corner posts (staves). The larger ones were strengthened with central towers and were built on stone sills. Less than 24 still survive today.

I have built one for the Viking part of the CCC3. It contains the central tower, verticle tiles, ornate entry and stave construction.

I think it needs those beams that point out, else it looks a little like a log hut.

Wow Great design! I really like how you made it so simple yet so interesting, This looks good enough to beat the Viking Hall (according to me).
