If the new creation was radically different from the old one and if it fit within a category it may be acceptable. The problem is categories are based on prizes which are not decided until right before the contest begins each year.

Vignettes are judged on a modified scale with different criteria, but in the end they can be compared apples to apples to non-vig creations. Points is points, after all.

For example, for Vignettes, instead of grading playability, we grade how 'alive' the vignette is. That is to say, does this vignette show a 'moment in time' or 'slice of life', or are the figs/items in the vignette just standing there lifeless?

Vignettes are an interesting category to grade. On the one hand, you have an entirely different and more subjective set of criteria on which to grade. On the other, vignettes level the playing field by limiting size.

In the end, the skill of the build is what's being judged, regardless of the theme, category or size.
