Some Anvils

Post by smcginnis »

Just wanted to post my anvil ideas. They can both be made completely dark bley if you want. I thought you might like to see them.

I don't think I've seen the 1x1x2/3 slope used in an anvil yet. It looks good here! My only suggestion would be to make it the anvil a little shorter, but it's nothing big.

I'll be using this design in the future.

They also have the 1x1x2 slants in black...that's how I make mine, which are very similar to yours.

I like this idea alot. After I purchased 3735 blacksmith shop I tried making some other anvils, none of them turned out this well. I think I may break my own dark bley rule and use some to make this. Good job, I'll play around with it some. Thanks for sharing.

I like 'em. I prefer the one without the tiles on the sides, since the "face" of an anvil (the top) always takes up the full width of the anvil. The only other improvement I can see would be to lower them. The height of an anvil is usually about mid thigh. Excellent work!

So, it turns out I don't have any 1x1 slopes, but I did find another piece I have not seen used in an anvel yet. The modified 1x1 plate (tooth or spike). I wish I did have those slopes though, I'd really like to try your idea, it was grrreat!

Thanks, I'm glad you started this thread, anvels are important, and you've started me trying to come up with new ones.

Enigma and Josh, I made them that height because I wasn't comparing them to a fig right then. Any pics, Modesty? Wunztwice, I like your anvils too. The 1x1 slopes come in many colors, as seen on zemi here. I guess that means you could make crystal anvils for wizards or something.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the anvil I posted that has a clicking hinge on it with two 'fingers' is meant to be a horse-shoe anvel. Many of them had two smaller rounding points opposite the larger rounding point, so that was my attempt. I hope it came off well. So, like I said before, thanks for getting me thinking about these again.

I just found some 1x1 bley slopes, and so I combined your idea with mine. I really like the result. Thanks.

Dear Double-poster,

Aye, your idea looks better, very real. I'll remember that when I need a anvil.

Nice, simple, but nice.
Thanks, Thomas
