ok i'm looking to build the following small MOC for my kingdom.
stygian necromancer's fortress 32x32 ish possibly 48x48
coat of arms primary is the open mouth harry potter shield. main villian will wear black armor with a yellow scimitar, cowl and black radar dish shield. <grey zombie ish body.
troops will be skeletons and undead knights. some vorgans perhaps.
anyway i'm trying to come up with a color scheme for this castle. i'm thinking black and tan with green accents?
any other thoughts>

Sounds interesting. The color scheme could be problematic...black and tan with green highlights? How much black? Black castle have a major problem, as you can't see details at all. Anyway, I am having trouble visualizing a castle in the three colors you specified. Would the walls be mostly black or mostly tan?

i'm thinking mostly black walls. i admit my brick supply is running low so i may have to bulk up before starting the project in ernest.
it seems most logical to make a black walled castle with grey foundations nad battlements but i have nowhere near the amt of light grey required.
i have found black with red battlements works well, but already done that for the inferno lord.
I was thinking black walls, green foundation and var other elements(such as 45 degree inverted slopes to hold up battlements, pyramidal peaks for ornimentation and so forth) tan battlements, green gateway with either dk grey or yellow portcullis, and if i add a drawbridge it'd be dk grey and black.
alternatively i could go out and get myself some 1x4, 1x3, 1x6, and 1x8 green bricks and use no tan in the castle at all.

Green foundations, black walls, and tan battlements can work. Just as long as you realize that any details on the walls will be really hard to see. And when you take pictures of it, they will disappear entirely.

Colors for necromancer castle
If you're going to use green as a highlight color, try to get as much dark green as you can. Then throw in a little trans-green where it would work. Try not to use any regular green if possible, unless it's vines climbing the walls.

How about black and sand green? Be sure to include some Spanish Moss and vines on the walls!
